MVKVIE in a brief

To be eligible for admission in Btech degrees in this college one has to pass his 12th with a science background and he/she has to pass the jee main or wbjee exam. The admission process in BTech is based on the counselling process of wbjee and jee main. 70% of seats of a batch are reserved for wbjee candidates, 20% of seats are reserved for jee main candidates and the remaining 10% are reserved for direct admission students. If you are getting admitted through wbjee or jee main, you have to go through their own counselling process and have to put this college on the list for getting admission to this college. Then in have to verify the documents in the college after the result of the counselling. At this point in time, you have to collect the admission form and have to perform other required actions mentioned by the college. There is no reservation allowed based on the caste system, But 2% of seats in this college are reserved for tfw students.

I had an interest in the computer field since childhood and I found coding and other tech-related stuff interesting so I choose this course. The faculty members of our department are good and supportive. Till now they are able to solve almost my all problems regarding subject topics. They are also available after classes, we can meet them in the faculty room and solve our doubts after class hours. They are also very supportive regarding anything you share with them. If you take any initiative or any good decision they are always with you. The faculty-to-student ratio is almost 1:10. All the faculty members are Mtech or Phd qualified. Some of them are also IITians. But sometimes they behave limited rudely & also give some extra pressure regarding academics. There are 4 CAs taken each semester, among them, 2 are written tests & other 2 are assignments. If you attend classes regularly you can pass them if you can't pass the exam, retests are arranged for improvement.

In this college internship opportunities are not up to the mark. In the sixth/seventh semester, you must have done an internship but the college directly doesn't provide any internships. They refer to the emails received from companies & forward them to students. Mostly students do internships in oracle or oasis info bytes on the basis of Web development and cloud. Students also get involved in other good internships in renowned companies also by their own. Most of the internships do not provide any stipend, but few provide a stipend of around 2-5k/month. The outcome of an internship is industry knowledge and experience & exposure to the real case scenario outside.

College provides placement facilities that can be said quite good for CSE, IT & ECE departments, other departments are on the verge. From the sixth semester students become eligible for placements. Most of the students got placed in TCS, Infosys, Capgemini, Cognizant, Accenture etc. On average 80-85% of students get placed from cs/it branch either on or off campus. On-campus companies provide packages between 3.5-4.5 lakhs/annum. But serious students also try for good companies and for good packages off campus & the few students who developes his/her skills during these 4years get a package between 7-8 lakhs/annum on average. The highest package offered was 19 lakhs/annum and from CSE depertment. I will also seat for placements after getting the degree.

The total course fee for a BTech degree for 4 years is 4 lakhs. Each year it may increase based on AICTE policy and terms. There are 2% seats reserved for tfw students, they can complete the whole course within eighty thousands or less. Students whose family income is less can avail of Swami Vivekananda scholarship or other AICTE or government scholarships. The college always tries to approve them. Also, semester fees can be paid by taking a bank loan or by the student credit card scheme.

Campus life in this college is not as good as you expect in college life. There is nothing much for enjoyment in college. The academic pressure & other extracurricular courses & assignments, and regular class tests will get over you. Though there is an annual fest held every year called UTOPIA and a tech fest every year called Technotica. Both of those were held in the month of January and February. College library & online resources are always available for you. Most of your needs will be fulfilled by the library. Labs are also well equipped, but classes can be modified a bit. College is just silent in the case of sports. Most of them and other all extracurricular activities are performed by the Rotaract club of MCKVIE. Rotaract Club, startup club, coders club, and Tech events like Kodikas, Pulse.exe etc are organised by college students. At the last, you have to find your joy outside the college. After all, memories are made outside the College, not on campus.
