Remarks
The admission to the Jamia Millia Islamia Btech course is through the JEE Mains Entrance exam. You have to get under 70k rank to get into this course in the college. There are five different branches and you get the courses based on the rank you get. Better the rank, the better the course. The application form is available on the official site of Jamia Millia Islamia. You have to be careful as the application comes out as early as December and the application deadline does not exceed January. If after giving JEE exam you are eligible for the course, you need to fill out another application form around July or August. I think the admission process is very streamlined and easy and requires no particular change.
Course Curriculum Overview
I got the course, BTech in mechanical engineering as Jamia Millia Islamia boasts one of the best departments of mechanical engineering in the country. It is one of the oldest departments as well. The faculty is very learned and have been recognised as the top 1 % of scientist in the world. Most of the college faculty are IIT graduates. The exams were very regular and fairly difficult.
Placement Experience
6th semester is the semester around which companies start visiting the college. Various Companies like Amazon, TCS, Wipro, Delhivery, ZS, EXL, cognizant, EIL, Delloite Around 300 offers were made. 75% of students placed. To pursue Job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees were very less as it is a Central Government College. It was around 35000 for the whole 4-year course. There are various scholarships if you are top 3 in your class. The rank 1 holder receives around 5000 waivers off the year's fees.
Campus Life
The annual fest there is known as Xtacy, which is a techno-cultural fest and takes place around September. They boast a huge library which has all the books necessary for your course. The classrooms have air conditioners as well as projector. The sports department of Jamia is outstanding, it has a full-fledged gym as well as a cricket ground, a football ground, a basketball court, outdoor as well as indoor, a tennis court, an indoor badminton and a TT court as well. There are various societies like Enactus, IEEE, SAI and various others.
