Remarks
The admission process wasn't too simple. It took a few days with the paperwork for admission into this college. Yes, I gave the Joint Entrance Exam(JEE) and qualified with a good percentile of 98.5 You can get the application form on jeemain.nic in or nta.nic in. Application fees for general and OBC is 750 and for SC/ST and girls it is half the aforesaid amount. I didn't avail of any kind of reservation benefits to get admission to this college. One improvement that we can have is to make the admission process as simple as possible. The current process is quite lengthy.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this Mechanical Engineering course because I have a keen interest in machines and automobiles which are part of this course. The faculty here is quite pretty and sufficient with a faculty-student ratio of 1 to 11 Most of the faculties have their Btech, Mtech, and Ph.D. degrees from IITs and some from the best private colleges of India like Bits. The teaching methodology adopted here by faculty members is good for students and the course objectives and outcomes are also clear at the end of the course. In a semester, we have a Midterm exam and an End term exam of theory and practical both. If you have attended the classes properly then it is not a great issue to score good marks in the exams.
Internships Opportunities
There are many opportunities for the internship Many big companies like BMW, BPCL, Accenture, Dassault, Oracle, Hero, Amazon, etc arrive in college and provide internship opportunities for students with an average stipend of 40k per month. Most of the internships are in summer and time period is 2 months.
Placement Experience
From the 7th semester, students become eligible for campus placements. Many big companies like BPCL, Apple, Amazon, Wipro, Hero, Dassault, Accenture, GoldmenSaches, Goblin, Paytm, etc arrived here and offered a good number of jobs nearly 90%. The highest package offered in my course of Mechanical Engineering was 18.5 lakhs by BPCL and the average package was around 10 lakhs. My plans after getting the BTech degree are to go for higher studies and then take a decent job.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee structure of MNIT is pretty good and is affordable for every class of society. The fee structure has different divisions based on the caste and economic status of students. For economically weaker sections, SC/ST and PWD students there is a policy of fee remission in which the tuition fees of the student are reimbursed. Apart from this various government and private scholarships are provided by the college. College also provides in-campus internships which are very good for average students who can't qualify for the exam for paid internships with bigger companies. Companies like Apple, Amazon, Hero, Bajaj, ONGC, GoldmenSaches, Oracle, Dassault, Accenture, Goblin, etc arrive here off-campus to hire students for jobs in various fields. Stipend from the Companies is quite good
Campus Life
Campus life is good here and there is so much greenery all around here. The campus has a sports ground, 4 basketball courts, 3 volleyball courts, 2 tennis courts, and in-hostel badminton courts. The annual fest celebrated here is Blitzschlag and the tech fest in Sphinx in December and January respectively. MNIT library has a good collection of subject books and journals. There is a collection of 200000 books. But if you deviate a little then you won't find anything. Vivekananda Lecture Theatre Conplex (VLTC) is the biggest in Asia. It has a student capacity of 6000 with fully air-conditioned classrooms and halls. There is n number of social groups and clubs here in MNIT. Some clubs are for cultural activities and some for technical. Some students also run their websites.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facility is nice with 3 seater rooms for 1st-year students and a single seater afterward. Rooms include a bed, table, chair, shelves, an almirah, tube light, and a fan. 4 times meal is served in a day including breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner. The meal is not limited and food quality is good. The hostel registration process is too simple and is easy to be afforded. It costs nearly 5000 a month for the mess and hostel.
