Internship Opportunities in DSCE

For admission to Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering, I wrote the Comedk examination. After that, I participated in counseling and according to my rank in Comedy, I was given this college. Other than that there are admissions through the Kcet examination for students belonging to Karnataka and also through Management quota. I belong to the general category so I didn't get any reservation benefits. It would be better if management quota seats are limited as a lot of seats get filled with management students and fewer seats remain for people joining through Comedy.

I chose B.E in Computer Science and Engineering which I got through the counseling process of Comedy. The Course Curriculum is nice although for some subjects it is more theoretical than practical. Student to teacher ratio in classes is around 50:1 which is good. We have 3 Internal exams, assignments, quizzes, and final exams in each subject. Exams are easy to a moderate level and you can pass easily if you study well.

Internship opportunities are not as much as placements. Mostly the students have to apply for them on their own. Sometimes although some companies do come for internships like in the CS department we have a company Brane Enterprises providing internship opportunities. Also sometimes the professors refer the students for some internships and also help them with research papers etc. The stipend is not much and it's majorly on the students to get internships outside the college.

The campus placements start around the 6th sem and go on till the 4th year. A lot of companies around 100+ visit the college and they are for all the branches. The average package is around 7-8 lakh and since I'm in the CSE department the placements are better for our department. The average is around 9-10 lakh and this year too there have been a lot of placements which are of 20+ CTC. I plan on sitting for campus placements and also applying for off-campus placements. I do not plan on going for a master's or MBA or appearing for any examination as such.

The fee structure depends on the mode of admission and course opted. Since I'm a CSE student coming through Comedy, the fee is around 2,40,000 per annum. Those who come through management quota have to pay an extra 4-8 lakh at the start for admission and then around 4 lakh per annum. For students coming through Kcet, the fees are much lower and are less than 1 lakh. I didn't get any scholarship or financial assistance. I'm in 5th sem so the placements haven't started yet. They start around the 6th sem and go on till the 4th year and the average package for the CSE department is around 9 -10 lakhs.

Campus life is good. There's a lot of greenery and places to roam around on the campus. There are 2 canteens and also a food truck. The classes are spacious and nice with a projector. There's a building of the Centre of Performing Arts which has a lot of clubs for dance, music, literary club, photography club, fashion, etc. There's a basketball court, football/ cricket ground, tennis court and also a gym. In each department, there are a lot of clubs too. There's an annual cultural fest Vibrations and a technical fest Advaith.
