Remarks
Stricter administration, and more efficient and fast admission and verification process. The administration is quite lazy and makes mistakes while writing the names, and other details. Also, the WBJEE counseling required for admission should be conducted after JEE and NEET Counselling. Seats can be saved in that way.
Course Curriculum Overview
The Bachelor of Instrumentation and Electronics Engineering Course is an interdisciplinary course. I chose this course because it had a mix of both core and code, being a core-circuital branch. We have 59 students and 15 departmental teachers, so the ratio of faculty: to the student is 1:4. Most of the faculty have a Ph.D., and follow outcome-based teaching. We have 2 CTs, and one 1-semester exam each semester. Exams are quite difficult, however, following class daily, we can score good marks.
Internships Opportunities
Many FAANG companies come for on-campus internships in SDE profiles as well as analyst profile. Highest stipend is given by Schrodinger, that is, 1.5 lakh per month. Texas Instruments also hires Core interns. PWC also hires interns, and provides 40000 per month for two years. For getting shortlisted for an internship in the SDE profile, we need to know DSA and have a project.
Placement Experience
Our placements are pretty good. Many from our college have been placed in FAANG companies in the past years. Our average package for the CSE dept is 25LPA. The companies visiting our campus include Apple, Accenture, Byju's, Deloitte, De-Shaw, Wells Fargo, Google, Facebook, Microsoft, Amazon, etc. Our highest domestic average package was 65LPA given by Apple, and the highest international package was 2Cr+ given by Google. Around 90% of students from each branch get placed, and it varies from department to department. For our department, we had a placement percentage of 97%. I want to get a high-paying SDE job in my fourth year.
Fees and Financial Aid
Our semester exam fees are 50 per semester and our total fees for each year are 2400. Total fees for all four years come out to be 11000. There are several scholarships available like SVMCM, etc. I am presently in my second year, so haven't yet got an internship, as internship season starts in the Second Year. Our on-campus departmental average package is 15lpa.
Campus Life
Our campus life is pretty much happening. Our annual cultural fest is called Sanskriti. It happens in March. Our annual tech-fest is called Srijan. It happens during May. There are sufficient books in the library and our central library is very big. Our classrooms have both digital and traditional facilities. We have projectors as well as blackboards. However, we don't have ACs in all classrooms, only in Seminar Room. We have CAB (Cricket Association of Bengal) Ground for playing Cricket. We also have a Football ground, Basketball ground, and Badminton court. We have many clubs and student branches in our university, namely Music Club, Dance Club, Debating Club, and Film Society as well as IEEE JUSB, IET Student Branch, etc.
