Remarks

12 pass was eligibility, On the WBJEEB website, The admission process took offline mode via the WBJEE exam in which PCM was there and TEQUIP was the building I visited for the admission process. Decentralized COUNSELING happened and I got the branch upgraded from metallurgy to production engineering.

Course Curriculum Overview

In Production, I got exposure to both Core Mechanical and Management with a ratio of 4:1. Student: Professor ratio is 18:1 All professors are highly qualified with a Ph.D. degree with two professors who have 200+ research papers and come in 2% of scientists of the world.

Class Size: 57Course Fees: INR 2700 per year

Internships Opportunities

You can intern for PWC, Mitacs, Airbus, Deloitte, DE Shaw, and co. etc. Roles offered are analyst, engineer trainee, data analyst, and software development. Skills and LOR or projects that you work under your professors will matter at the time of the internship.

Placement Experience

Placement is best in JU. From 3rd year you are eligible for placement via internships and PPO. Companies ranging from Apple, Microsoft, Bain, and co to Royal Enfields, and Texas Instruments all come for campus placement.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is the best, 11700 for just 4 years. In this capitalist world, this is the best fee structure you can get in India. The administration wants to hike fees but we students are working on it not hike fees. You can get SVCM, FFE Oasis, ONGC, Siemens, etc scholarships.

Campus Life

There are two annual fests. Sanskriti and Srijan, Sanskriti is the cultural fest, and Srijan is the techno-management fest. There are ample books in Central and the library for you to get knowledge. Clubs are ECell, Motorsports club, mountaineering club, fan club, photography club, debating society, IEEE society, coding club, etc. Classrooms and labs are well furnished but you have to compromise with the infrastructure due to a funding crunch.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Like my main was getting to IIT which I couldn't as U couldn't clear JEE advanced.So my next option was to choose between NITS and JU.So clearly choose JU because it completes our BE in 10k whereas the fees of NITs are really high.So as I gave JEE in 2024 my jee main rank was something around 64K (95.5 percentile) and my wbjee rank was 2341 and got alloted food Technology and biochemical engineering in jadavpur university.The process to get into our college is to give wbjee and if u are a general your rank should be within 2500 to get into this premium college....Read More
