Remarks
I filled out the registration form for all courses on the du website and also applied through the ECA quota. The cutoff for the b.com program goes above 90% and mine was 86%only. So at first, I got admitted to Aurobindo college in the b.a program but later I got admission to Dyal Singh through ECA. The ones who don't know what ECA quota is - it is extracurricular activities including activities like singing, dancing, debating etc. In the ECA quota first, you have to submit your 3 best certificates of a specific tenure and after that trials are head there is 30% wieghtage of certificates and 70% of trials .It's likewise the sports quota admission you get 1 - 15% percent concession in cutoffs if you are in eca cut off list.
Course Curriculum Overview
I wanted to do b.com Hons as it is better than b.com but for hons course, it is a must-have maths in 12th which I didn't have so I have to go for the program only also hons cutoff goes higher than the program course one surprising thing was as far as I know total seats in one course is only upto 140 but in my course, there are four sections and in my section A there were 140 students only. though the teaching staff is highly educated and helpful exams are held twice in one year we have 6 semesters two being held every year
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees are low, in the first year you have to pay around 13000 and in the 1st and 2nd years you have to pay around 11000. There are aids for financially weak students and scholarships too. You have to keep checking the college website from time to time for updates. For placement opportunities, there is a placement cell you can enrol there and will keep sending you various internships and details on a regular basis though I haven't opted for one yet as I'm always busy with my society.
Campus Life
There are no. Of college societies in college for dance, singing, arts, debates, eco club, commerce dept. , women's cell development, personality development etc Whichever you want to join you have plenty of options and I would recommend if you are in du you must join one society for sure. And all the time there are fest, orientation, and other activities going on in college of one or the other society.
