Selection of work

The admission process was really easy. Students can download admission forms from the website. Also, they can apply directly from the college. I had to collect brochures of all fee structures and admission forms by paying Rs/600. Every candidate has to give an e-chat exam including Group discussion and PI. Both exams were mandatory and easy.

I choose this course because of three main reasons & those are emaculate grooming, effective communication and skills and a pleasing personality. After graduating one can work in retail, the food industry, sales, airlines cruise etc. The faculties are amazing as the infrastructure of the college. Teachers were highly supportive and I always found a positive environment around them. I was on the Kolkata campus and there were renowned chef kak, and chef Shaun Kenworthy inspirational speakers.IIHM also provide a WSET course for those who want to be sommelier. The course is divided into 3 levels and the certification students will get from West London University. For 3 years course, there was a total of 6 semesters. Each year students have to give practical and theory exams. faculty members have high knowledge and they prepare students for the industry.

Students from IIHM get internship opportunities in worldwide line USA, France, Australia, Canada, Singapore etc. Most of the hotels offer industrial training for 6 months in a hotel after that students get a certificate from the hotel. For those 6 months, every student has to work in all 4 departments like fnb, kitchen, culinary, housekeeping, and hr in the hotel. Hotels provide a minimum amount of stipend every month and after completion, they offer an IEt certificate. Students have to sit for an interview to get selected by hotel companies. I have done my internship in Malaysia at the hotel Hilton. we had to prepare for the interview to get to know about the hotel property and the basics of all departments thoroughly.

From semester 5 students can sit for campus placements. Every student gets placements from hotels like the taj, Oberoi, ITC, and Hyatt. For the management trainees, the highest package was 25k and the average package will be around 18k as per the company. I passed out from my college in 2021 and before COVID-19 happened. on average 80% of students got placements from various companies. The hospitality industry was affected badly for that reason. The placements were not that good. Hotels were offering salaries for freshers like 15k or less. My plan after getting the degree was to join airlines. And I prepared for both the hotels and airlines.

According to other colleges, the fee structure in iihm is a bit high for the duration of 3 years. They provide both diplomas in hospitality management and B.sc in Tourism studies from IGNOU. Total fees were 600000 lakhs. Each year students have to pay around 2 lakhs. IIHM provide scholarship to meritorious students who scored up to 90% recognised by any board tuition fee of INR 50,000.

Every year YCO Yound Chef Olympiad is held and students from other countries participate in this competition. They organize various sports activities as well as an intercollege fest.IIHM and other college students participate in bands, fashion shows, western dance and music. Also, organize an international food festival where students gain immense exposure where they organize more than 3000 food stalls by themselves. there are labs for specific departments and libraries, wifi is available.IIHM alumni journals all are available.
