NSIT in a nutshell

I had to take JEE Mains as an entrance exam. The application form was available on NTA by CBSE and the application fee was around 2000/-. Reservation has a major impact on the seats. Almost 70-80% of seats are reserved for underprivileged sections of society. Now the admission process changed quite a bit and is quite smoother than before. But I'd like it to be a little faster as well.

I chose this course because of my rank. The faculty is sparse and several students are much more. The teaching method is traditional and the qualification of the faculty is good. The curriculum has been changing nowadays. Exams were taken every month and it was quite easy to pass with only a week of study.

A lot of companies visit the campus for internship opportunities (around 75+). Roles offered are mainly sde and business analysts. And the average stipend is around 40k per month. Students get to work with real projects in companies to understand the corporate world and get insights from it.

In the 7th semester, the students become eligible for placements. There are more than 150 companies that visit the campus every year. The highest package offered was about 1.5 crore by Facebook (mountain view). The average package is around 10 lakh. Almost 100% of students get placed. I got the degree in 2021 and I'm not working as a software engineer.

The fee hikes have been prominent. Being a govt. College the fee structure shouldn't be so much. The fee was around 7.5 lakh for 4 years. But there are many scholarships provided to Meritious and in-need students. I was offered a CTC of 11 lakh/annum at the on-campus placements.

The annual fests are quite better now. The cultural fest "moksha" was a big hit last year. It is usually conducted in March or April. The library is full of all the required books and students can issue them without any difficulties. Now newer classrooms are spacious with comfortable seats, AC, and smart systems. There are many sports events that happen throughout. There are a ton of social groups and clubs that students can be a part of.
