Remarks
Having studied at the International Institute of Hotel Management in Kolkata was more of a good experience. From learning new things about new dishes to new drinks and my colleagues helped me to know theoretically and practically about the new dishes and also about the front office and reservation works. Practical's helped me to work more on my outcomes and gain much and deep knowledge about the subjects thoroughly.
Course Curriculum Overview
I choose this course because their was a much more opportunities in hotels in India as well as abroad. Faculty students ratio was like full around like 800 total students. The qualifications and teaching methods were to the upper level as having much experience teachers and chefs and also well experienced food and beverage teacher. Term examination was 2 times in a year and the examination was held under a strict basis .
Internships Opportunities
The name of the company was Ramada Jumeirah hotel, Dubai and the role of the work was in housekeeping and front office. The stipend was 500 dirhams. The project and outcome was a food concert that was done in a team of 4 and everybody contributed well and was done in a very good and entertaining way to achieve success in the food concert.
Placement Experience
From 2nd year we started our internship and I got a chance to do my internship in Dubai. The package offered is 3lacs per annum to 5 lacs per annum and it was good to start for a fresher. A maximum of 60% of students get placement. My plans after getting the degree were to crack an interview and get a handsome job.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees hike policy was much more but the amount of knowledge gained was also much more. The job that I got is in Delhi airport as a customer service executive and the scholarships are based on marks, also financial assistance was like you can get a loan amount which you can pay after placement.
Campus Life
The fest is conducted that is held in February and that was a food fest that goes on for one week. The books are available in the library and every student gets books and all amenities in the classroom. There are also sports conducted in December and that is much fun on campus. There is a club run by students and the name is IIHMMITES and is run by IIHM students.
Hostel Facilities
There is a hostel for boys and around 3 hostels where there is a girls hostel also and boys are there. Meals are provided 2 times a day one is breakfast and dinner. Registration we can do online as well as offline and I didn't rent any room or PG as the hostel rent was 6000 per month.
Interview Experience
The topic of GD was science vs arts and also having small MCQ exams and also a PI and this much are the criteria for admission I prepared these rounds by practicing at home by seeing different videos so that I can prepare myself for the interview.
