Remarks
You can get into this college based on your jee main score. Your all-India rank is considered for admission and if you are from some category then category rank is considered for evaluation. After that, you applied for josaa counselling. In counselling, you fill choices according to your requirements like this. Once you get into this college in josaa counselling they will form a what's up group with your given number. In the group, they keep on posting complete admission process details. but have to register on the institute website and pay the remaining token fee as per your category. The process can be smoother, but sometimes they provide very little information or do some delay that can be improved
Course Curriculum Overview
I was not getting cse or ece in this college instead of taking credit in any other college I choose the brand of NIT and the reputation of the college. And the specific reason for choosing metallurgy is that my college has excellent placement in the core sectors like this. And, this branch also provides me with some extra leisure time to explore my interests. All the faculty here are highly qualified persons they hold their PHD's in their respective departments. They explain things 2 to 3 times and don't use very scientific language which is not understood by students. The student ratio is very bad like any other engineering college I.e 1:6 it is very difficult for you to find girls for yourself on campus. There used to be 2 sessions and 1 end-sem exam. But from this year only our college has decided to take one midsem and one end sem exam to mould the curriculum accordingly to the education policy of 2020
Internships Opportunities
The college has also provided good on-campus internships. Companies offer internships to BTech 2 and 3-year students along with first-year MTech students. Companies like google have started recruiting interns from on-campus visits. Also, every startup offer internships and PPO offers to students. also, the core sector companies like tata steel rally India, and RIL offers internships to students. But college is more overly placement oriented.
Placement Experience
Companies start coming from the very beginning of the 4th year or in the 3rd year. There are 256 companies visited last year and about 1250 offers were made this year the no of companies visiting can cross the 400 mark and many more offers will be offered. Till this, only a major tech giant hired 14 people from campus at ctc for 68 lakhs and this year only Google has come first time on campus recruitment and hired 5 people 3 were full-time offers at ctc for 20 lakhs and two inter offers are made. It has an excellent placement record in core branches like chemical, mechanical and metallurgy. The earlier college has stereotypes that it is good colleges with poor placements but slowly it is breaking that thing. College also worked upon the percentage of people placed more than 90 per cent people get placed here and in some branches, it is 100%. I want to start my own startup or venture if things went right or else I want to explore the software and blockchain side.
Fees and Financial Aid
Despite being an NIT and institute of national importance a general category student has to about 10 lakh rupees for his BTech degree. I heard that fees are lastly hiked in 2019. If you are a general category student you have to pay the full fee even if you are not financially stable that's the bad point. But if you are obc or ews student the fee remission facility is available according to which income bracket you fall. For eg if your annual income is less than one lakh full fee will be refunded and if your father earns 1 to 5 lakh per annum your 2/3 fee will be refunded. SC and ST category students don't need to pay anything.
Campus Life
There are many small and big events that keep happening within the institute but the main attraction of the college is our cultural fest 'aarohi' which is central India's biggest fest which happens in the month of October and axis is our technical fest which happens in March every year. Axis is one of a kind experience for tech enthusiasts. We got our newly build lecture halls recently they are very well-furnished and have proper ventilation. Every classroom is equipped with 2 projectors and 1 digital board with good quality benches. There are 15000+ books collection with 20000+ ejournals and ebooks so one can hood time in reading. College has facility for every sport ranging from cricket, football, badminton to swimming also. All sports have their respective worldclass courts including a Olympic size swimming pool also which is under construction. College also provides all equipment and facility for all indoor sports too. The club Prayas from college is indulged in various social welfare activities.
Hostel Facilities
In the first year, 3 students are accommodated in one room. Each room has plenty of tube lights and fans along with a chain, study table and cot for every student. For the first time in college history, first-year students are provided with high-quality lan internet. Meal quality is average the same menu keeps on repeating, and the snacks and breakfast items are only provided once. The overall taste is good but can be improved. The registration process for a hostel is just attached to your admission process and it is quite easy and hassle-free. Hostel and mess along with other costs like gym, sports and library cost around 80 thousand rupees per year.
