Course Curriculum Overview

The student teacher ratio in normal class is about 62:1 and in lab is 31:1. 4 CA exams are taken in 6 months then semister exam is taken. Total 3 practical exams are taken in 6 months period. Some teachers are highly qualified and some teachers are new in teaching profession. Overall the student teacher bond is good.

Placement Experience

As soon as the student enters in 7th semester he/she is eligible to sit in campus placements. According to college the tcs, Flipkart, Amazon, tech Mahindra, byjus, white hat jr, and many other top tech companies visits the campus. The highest package till today is 33 Lakh / annum and lowest 2.5 lakh / annum. The Average is 5 lakh. 98% students gets placed every year.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no fee hike policy in this college. The college provides many paid online courses for absolutely for free like eduskill courses and Amazon Web services courses which is the best thing. Till today I didn't saw any student to get a paid internship through college.

Campus Life

Senior students organises many programs like coding programs etc. The library is full of books but only btech related books are available. There are 4-5 library rooms. The college have many clubs like sports club, karate club, boxing club and coding club but on a serious note all these clubs are not highy active.

Admission

The btech course in this college requires a student science background and 65% above marks in class 12. Jee is not mandatory. The application form can be found online on the college website and can be found in the college administration cell too. ?10,000 can be given to reserve seat and after some weeks ?52,000 to be paid as complete admission fee and 1st semester fee.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

BCET Durgapur.Good campus but bad faculty and placement opportunities.

I say this earlier. First of all my JEE rank was little bit low, so I can't get any govt college. And at that time the CSE fees in almost every private college is arround 4 lakhs. But they asked high donation. Which was not affordable by my family. So I choose this college. Also I hear all private colleges are same.we have to do everything by ourselves.
