Remarks

It's good for those students who are not able to give time to their studies on daily basis. Those students who are also not able to get admission in the daily basis.

Entrance Preview

There was no entrance test. if you are a higher secondary pass, you can get admission in this college.

Course Curriculum Overview

2.5

The course curriculum is not that good. the course curriculum is not updated from time to time.

Internships Opportunities

No, there was no concept of the internship as it was a college for open learning. But if you will pursue the same course from the regular college of University of Delhi you have to undergo internship for a period ranging from 1 month to 2 months. The Stipend range is between Rs.2500 to Rs. 10000.

Placement Experience

0.5

Being a distance Studies School of open learning does not provide for campus placement. But at the same time because you do not have to attend college on daily basis you can do study at home or can do the job while pursuing studies. Apart from above, you can also pursue various professional courses like Chartered Accountant, cost and management accountant, company secretary, actuary etc.

College Events

2.5

Except exam day there is always Holiday. As far as my knowledge is concerned about the festival and feast celebrated by the SOL branch of the University of Delhi there is no such celebration. Feast and Festivals are celebrated by the Regular Colleges of the University of Delhi from time to time with great zeal and enthusiasm.

Fee Structure And Facilities

For Bachelor of Arts prog, it ranges from Rs 3430 to 4200 on annual basis. For Bachelor of Commerce prog, it ranges from Rs 3430 to 4200 on annual basis. For Bachelor of Commerce Hons, it ranges from Rs 3830 to 5600 on annual basis. For Bachelor of Arts Eng Hons, it ranges from Rs 3530 to 5600 on annual basis.

Fees and Financial Aid

Although the cost of the course is affordable. But still, scholarship facility is available for the students who do not come from financial sound family. In order to avail scholarship student have to pay fees first then take it by refund route.

Campus Life

0.5

Although, it's a distance college but there will not even a single day when you will not found it full of Students, some taking admission, some student at inquiry counter, some taking various NOC while some for enjoying the crowd. When you visit the campus you will find the place full of both genders( Boys and Girls).

Hostel Facilities

0.5

There is no such facility for distance learning student as its a distance college. But because SOL is a branch of the University of Delhi so there are so many regular colleges of University of Delhi North Campus which provide Hostel and mess facility. But it's needless to say that the standard is not at par with the fame of the college, yes PG are also available in the near by area, on a monthly rent ranging from Rs. 2500 to Rs 7500 per month.

Alumni/Alumna

No such network exists as there are no regular classes. But when you need help you can go to SOL campus and solve your query discussing with them. But as such, there is no formal network.

Exam Structure

Exams are generally conducted in the month of June and July on annual basis. in order to appear in the exams of any session, you must take admission at least 6 months prior to exams. which is a plus point for this college. Generally, exams of B com are conducted back to back with a gap max one day leave you are able to revise major chunk of course as the curriculum is not that tough and vast. But the negative point about the Exam of the SOL is that you do not get marks on the basis of the Content quality rather focus is put on the number of copies you fill in the exams.

Admission

The Admission process generally starts after the higher secondary results are out. In order to get admission in this college, you have to fill form Online through the college website https://sol.du.ac.in. Once you filled the form correctly with the requisite information, you have to make payment as per the course selected by you.on successfull payment a receipt is sent on your email. with that receipt you have to go to SOL campus for collecting your books.

Faculty

2

As it was a distance learning college. Interaction level was not much as I had to go to college at my will that too only on holiday or Sunday. Apart from this due to lack of time faculty used to focus only on teaching very important topics rather than interacting with the student.

Course Curriculum Overview:

Well i choose this course because I didn't got what I wanted. Many students are from arts background who got this course because they had no option. The curriculum is same as school all chapters and everything. The law section is new. About buisness and law and everything. Rest is same. Changes in curriculum is not in their hands. But if they could actually change the accounting syllabus. The timing of exams is normal 2:30 to 6:30. And internal test taken by perspective teacher are according to their time and class. They will take retest incase you didn't attended.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I really was interested in finance and taxation from the beginning. This course aligned rightly with my interests. The curriculum is based on real world applications. Corporate accounting, financial accounting, company law, human resource management, these are very important considering change in the job market and business world. Not only real world applications but one can also go for further academic pursuit such as a master's degree and research. This makes the curriculum really diverse. Some areas of suggestions would be that in theory subjects there should be practical activities. Just like vestibular training. The time of exams is just right. After the completion of syllabus of a particular subject, we are given 10 days of preparation leave. The exams are moderate and it really tests our ability and knowledge based on our studies.

Placement Experience:

For placements fifth semester student are eligible for placements. Since it is best commerce college. Companies like big 4, google, bank of America, Goldman Sachs, bcg, bain and co., Sbi, paytm, meesho and many more comes. The highest package was 36 LPA this year from meesho for senior analyst roles. Average package is 10 LPA. Most of the placements take place in consulting, marketing, auditing, finance and analyst roles. Around more than 50% of the students get placed. My plan is to take placements in consulting and finance roles after the degree from the college.

The placement is quite good the percentage of students is not same always it changes but only those students with proper knowledge, experience, skills get good placement. There is a proper placement cell for this which is very active. Prepare for government exams (SSC, UPSC, etc.) Go for higher education (PG, B.Ed., MBA, etc.) Enroll in skill-based or professional certification courses outside college

The placement of my college is good if you perform well in the process of selection, as I told earlier, the placement cell is pretty active, so you would have a good number of options. I will be naming the good companies that visited my college, they were EY, Deloitte, DE SHAW, TCS, KPMG, etc. Numerous offers were made and I would say over 80% students in my batch got placed in good companies.

Course Curriculum Overview:

In open learning management.. they provide hard copy of books tk prepare whole semester and this is a very good thing because those books are covering whole semester in some books only and there is a v good thing I found... At the end of every chapter they provide summaries and mock questions for every chapter to analyse the weakness and strength. the areas for improvements in the Course Curriculum and Teaching Methods--- they should also provide a mock test paper as per the paper model and latest questions or updated topics with to the point topics The difficulty is normal if candidate is completely prepared...
