Jadavpur University ( The dream of many students )

To qualify for the webjee entrace exam we had to get atleast 75% score in the pcm combination on board exams. The application form and all other information can be found on the wbjee.nic.in website. All the reservation categories are available like SC,ST, OBC, Ph etc. On a real life basis I see lots of difficulties on the admission process of private colleges during the various rounds of wbjee counseilling. So it will be great if wbjee board take a look on this matter.

I am currently doing computer science and engineering course and based on research I found out that this branch has the highest placement package in Jadavpur University thats why I opted for this course. The faculty is quite good with the best teachers and a student ration of 65:7. I am not enough qualified to judge the faculty teachers but the teachers are highly educated and mostly all have a Phd degree with great teaching methods. Semester exams were all on time but the difficulty level of the exams are moderate, if one studies through the year it will be easier for him/her.

Various companies like the amazon and microsoft offer internship with a stipend of 70k per month. I dont know much about the projects offered during the internship but based on the reviews from the seniors they provide quite a nice internship projects to gather experiences.

From the 6th semester students become eligible for the campus placements. Mostly all the popular companies visit our campus and offer many packages. Companies like google, microsoft and amazon are popular during the placement season. Highest package is around 1.8 Crore offered my Meta and the average package in our department is around 30lpa. According to the previous year data almost 100% students were placed in the previous placement session. My future plan is to join a MNC after completing my B.E. degree at SDE post.

The fees is very low like lowest in India. One can complete his/her Btech degree with a total cost of 10k to 12k ruppees and as of now there is no discussion about the fees hike policy. And I dont think there will be any hike in fees in the future. There are various scholarship like the Swami Vivekananda Scholarship, one can opt in the scholarship on the official website.

The cultural fest or Sanskriti generally holds on July and August and tech fest holds on the month of February. We have a central library where all the books and journals of all the populars authors are available. Our classroom is very much decorated and well furnished and AC installed. We have a big playground and students generally play football and cricket in the free time. Talking about clubs we have tons of clubs and all the clubs are well funded and managed by the students.

Hostels rooms are quite basic with all the important neccessities given. One bed and one table with a cloth reck is given. Meal quality is very good. Genrally two meals are provided a day, both non veg and chicken meal is provied in the night and fish/egg is available for the breakfast. We have to generally go for hostel interviews based on family income and distance from college. Hostel rate is very cheap with a monthly rate of 25 ruppees. If anyone wants to rent PG he/she can look nearby PG around the 8B bus stand.
