Remarks
The admission process in this college is through JOSAA counseling (Joint Seat Allocation Authority), you need to give JEE Main exam and after the result, counselling starts upon which cutoffs will be declared after each round of admission. The admission process is very simple, you just need to fill required details on the JoSAA website and that's it. For my course, the cutoff was 28,000 Gen-Neutral for civil Eng. 2021.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course as my personal field of interest is in Civil Eng. and it has good placement opportunities in MNIT. The boys and girls ratio is pretty much good about 3:1 and better than almost 90% of colleges. Faculty in 1st year is not so good but very good and better from 2nd year onwards. Teachers use smart boards for a slide presentation and a good sound environment is present. For the examination, you need to study 7 days prior to mid-term and 15 days prior to the end term if you want a good score. And it's kinda not that difficult to pass exams.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees of MNIT increased about two folds in the past 10 years because exponential inflation growth rate but as a government-funded college, it has decent and lowest fees in the whole of INDIA for tier 1 college NIT+ system. EWS students get scholarships and there is financial assistance for BPL students. You can get internships and placements from the 5th sem if you work really hard.
Campus Life
The annual fest of the college is Blitzslag and it is organized in the first week of Feb. For the past 3 years, it has not been organized due to Corona. But in 2023, it will be a grand 4 DAY event. The library has a vast number of books of every kind. Classrooms are installed for fully centralized AC with a soundproof environment and fireproof doors. A big playground consists of a football field, cricket ground, athletics, and side-by sports complex stretched over 50 acres consisting of 5 badminton courts, 3 volleyball courts, and 3 basketball courts.
