PCET’s NMIET

The admission is done through CAP(Centralized Admission Process) using MHT-CET. The process is quite smooth, just ensure you have the necessary documents such as Domicile(for people residing in Maharashtra), Caste Certificate, etc. There are reservations for castes such as SC, ST, and NT. Also, there is a slight difference between Home University(Pune University) candidates and Outside Maharashtra Candidates. The cutoff in 2021 was 85.8 percentile and around 92 percentile this year.

The course curriculum is relatable according to current technology, and as there is high scope in CS/IT fields, I chose this stream. The faculty is well qualified and very helpful, they are always there to support and help whenever required. There is a 30 marks exam after 1 or 1.5 months from start of the semester. There are 70 marks exams at end of the semester along with practice exams. The exams can be passed with good marks but constant studying is required throughout the semester.

PCET-NUTAN group provides numerous Internship opportunities with reputed companies. Some of our students are interning with PTC this year. Also, some students are interning with companies like Mass Technologies, etc. NMIET also encourages students for getting innovative ideas and also their implementation, copyrights, patents, etc.

PCET is a very big name in terms of placement overall in Pune. The training and placement cell of the PCET-NUTAN group has been setting massive records in terms of the package as well as percentage placement. There are a lot of job offers in reputed companies with good packages. The highest package till now is 61 lacs, and more than 1500 offers of above 5 LPA. Almost 100% of eligible students are placed in the Comp-IT stream. Also, other branch students have high placement percentages. I plan to get placed and work at a good company with a good package.

There are scholarships like EBC, Katalyst(For Women), etc. In EBC, if you come under the criteria, you have to pay around half the fees. For example, the normal fee for OPEN is 97k, then for EBC candidates, it is around 56k. There is no specific fee hike policy. There are also other scholarships such as the Lila Poonawala scholarship, etc.

Vihangam is the annual fest of NMIET, held around February last year. It is a massive cultural event conducted by NMIET. The project competition conducted is named TechCult. The library has numerous reference books, books can be borrowed for 10 days and can be renewed once. Also, some students according to merit are given books for a semester. The amenities are ok, there are amenities like a water cooler and filter, common rooms, washrooms, etc. There are a lot of Cultural and sports activities. There are different student organizations such as ACES, IST, etc.
