For taking admission at Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra you need to appear in JEE Main Examinations. JoSAA counseling cutoff ranges between 15k-18k for CSE, General. After seat allotment in Josaa counseling, students proceed for Physical verification.

The faculty members are all well-experienced and Ph.D. holders. BIT MESRA is one of the best Institutes in the country having a top-notch student-prof ratio. Professors make use of all teaching aids to clarify the concepts for their students.

The placements at BIT Mesra are at par with the top 7-8 NITs with a 90-95% placement rate in CSE/IT offering an average of 20.58LPA in IT and 19.27LPA in CSE. The overall average package is 13.01 LPA, and the placements in lower branches are pretty decent too. The overall placement % stands at 85%. The highest on-campus placement was offered by Atlassian @ 58LPA domestic package.

Fees and Financial Aid

When it comes to fees, BIT Mesra charges a little high in terms of its competitors (Top NITs and IIITs) but the money is worth it considering all the facilities the institution provides and the amazing placements. GP Birla Scholarship is provided to the top performers of the batch, every semester. Top 25 students: 100% tuition fees waiver, Next 25 students: 50% tuition fees waiver, Then there's merit cum means GP Birla scholarship for people needing financial assistance and who have performed considerably well in the institute examinations.

Campus Life

BITOTSAV is the annual fest of BIT Mesra which is conducted at the national level. Generally, it is conducted in the month of February and many eminent personalities visit our college during the fest. The college offers a large library with a vast collection of books from all domains. The library is totally tech-enabled with zero human interaction. All facilities including a Gym and indoor sports facility are available for sports enthusiasts. BIT Mesra boasts of having one of the best coding cultures in the country with top-notch coding clubs having their centers here, like IEEE, IET, ACM, etc. The college also has other clubs like the Literary Club, Photographic Society, Dhwani Music Club, etc.

INSIGHTS OF BIT MESRA

Placement Experience:

From 7th sem onwards students are able to face placements. Comapnies such as ZS, Deloite AB in bev microsoft visa comes here and normally takes 1-3 students. The highest package may vary from 40-50 lakhs and average is 4-5 lakhs. Internships opportunities are quite low here. In chemical enginnering only till now out of 120 students 20-30 got placed including out of campus palcements. I am hoping to do mba after pursuing the degree as there is less comapny visit for core branches.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is quite active and provides internship opportunities and pre-placement offers for students in their third and fourth years. It invites reputed companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Accenture, IBM, Intel, Infosys, Cognizant, Deloitte, and many more. The average package is about 12LPA and highest package is about 52 LPA. Branches like CSE offer even higher, lucrative packges.

The placement of IIT dhanbad is very good and it offers a average package of 24lpa with highest package of 66lpa this year. Also every year more than 70% students get placed in our college. Specially the core companies shows a lot of interest in our college like coal india, sail, gail, petroleum industries companies, mining companies , etc Average package of cse here is 28lpa with 90% placement rate. Average of electrical is 23lpa with placement rate of 80%. Similarly, every branch average package lies between 18lpa to 24lpa.

The placement season starts during 7th semester when various companies come to camous to recruit students. Top companies such as google, amazon,microsoft, coal india, texas instumentation, ONGC etc visits the campus for recruirment. Around 60 -70 percent of the students get placed every year. The highest package from the camous was about 1cr . And the average package of the college was about 15-16 lakhs Apart from the capmus placement many students apply for off campus placement for which also tge college helps.

This college is an engineering college and I choose this college for a Btech degree in civil engineering. The teacher faculty is pretty well they teach us and do many practical labs. The student ratio in my class is 50:11 which means 50 boys and 11 girls in my branch. Mainly they all are DR they have dr degrees and they method is simply not like an extraordinary teacher. In my college teacher took all the exams at timely and it is not very difficult to pass

Overall Experience and all reality of Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra, Ranchi

I had NIT Raipur Chemical Engg, rejected it because I didn't like the campus amenities of the same, zero sports facilities, they play Football on a Red Soil literally. I got this in CSAB and hence it was a better ranked college than NITRR, i've heard of people opting a lower preferred branch in BITM over a branch in NITRR such the brand value of the college. I scored pretty avg in JEE 58k rank so wasn't eligible for all the clgs anyhow. Admission process is pretty simple JOSSA and CSAB. Admission experience is obviously good because why would a clg not welcome a laxmi lol jk....Read More
