Remarks

I'm pursuing B.tech in Computer Science and Engineering. Faculty members are very friendly and helpful. They always help me during my admission process. I got my admission through the JELET exam through centralized counseling.

Course Curriculum Overview

It's my dream to be a Computer science Engineer so choose this course. Faculty members are very nice to each and every student. The teachers are also very friendly and helpful to us. There are mid-term and end the semester.

Internships Opportunities

There are various companies that are associated with our college for internships. IBM is one of the top companies which offered us internships. There is also TCS for an internship offer for computer science and engineering.

Placement Experience

From 5th semester students are eligible for the campus placement. There are many big shots companies like Microsoft, IBM, Wipro, TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, byjuss etc. Microsoft offered highest package of 32 LPA in this year with average package 6 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

As I'm a lateral student in Computer Science and Engineering my total 3 years package is 376500 rupees. There is various scholarship provided by the college but there is no scholarship for computer science and engineering.

Campus Life

There are many kinds of events conducted by the college as Diwali celebrations, Christmas celebrations, Cake mixing ceremonies, Holi celebrations, college inauguration day, and freshers. The library facility is also good. There are various clubs for technology and sports.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

Insights of SNU

There are a few private colleges present in Kolkata which provides biotechnology but in my opinion the labs of those colleges are not as well furnished as ours. There curriculum is little different than ours. I didn't apply to any other colleges apart from Snu for biotechnology I sat for an online exam .And I cleared the test. Once you get a call you visit the college campus meet the faculty and the faculty may take a type of interview session The addmission process is smooth. But sometimes the staff members of admission makes blunder. My classes were about to start from 17 August, but they called me during July( because she didn't know that biotechnology does not fall under para- medical and made a mistake and for her mistake I had to suffer as I'm not a resident of Kolkata)...Read More
