Remarks
You need to have a minimum of 65% in your 10th and 12th. Then after your intermediate, you need to get a decent rank in the JEE MAINS as this is the oldest engineering college in the whole of Odisha. OBC is treated as general in Odisha, but the SC and ST get reservation benefits. Nevertheless, the OBCs can get scholarship benefits from the state government. OJEE conducts the counseling process.
Course Curriculum Overview
The facilities have a minimum of the master's degree and the professors have PhDs from reputed institutions. There are a decent number of faculties in the college. There are 2 semesters per year and every semester has an end semester and a mid-semester exam. The difficulty of the exams is moderate, one can easily pass the exams from class teaching and some extra practice can earn you high scores.
Internships Opportunities
The name of the college is enough to get you an internship from the core companies in Odisha. You need to collect course or experience certificates for more quality internships online and offline. There are regular seminars and workshops for the same. The college offers every possible support for you to get an internship. They even provide reference and recommendation letters to make it easier for you. There are 2 projects in the final year, a minor and a major, that you can perform under any of the faculty members, with their permission.
Placement Experience
Several companies visit the college ranging from mass recruitment companies like cognizant and Deloitte to core companies like Maruti Suzuki and L&T. The average package offered is 7.5lakhs and the highest on-campus package in 2022 was 17.5lakhs. The students can even apply for off-campus placements if they are not satisfied with the package they are offered. Almost all of the students(both from on-campus and off-campus) get placed in college. Many students even apply for higher studies. The college has the strongest Alumni network with many cities having their own Alumni chapters(in fact the strongest in all of Odisha).
Fees and Financial Aid
There are 2 types of courses: regular and self-financing. The hosteller has to pay an extra of 3000 more than the regular day scholars. The self-financing courses are double in fees of the regular courses. The even semester fee is 20500 and the odd semester fee is 17500. The state government and different organizations provide scholarships to students. I took the sc st mbc post matric scholarship, in the jobs category, and I got 23500 for 1 year.
Campus Life
There is a central library on the college campus that is open up to 8 pm and has over 200000 books. The cultural fest is 'vassaunt' and the technical fest is the 'samavesh', held once every year by the students and facilities of the college. There are various clubs, ranging from standup comedy to rocketry, from dancing to robotics, and from singing to racing. The sports meet is 'Illumina' and has hosted various sports events.
Hostel Facilities
Every room is clean and well-maintained, and you get to stay with 3 or 4 people of your choice. The mess food is far better than the rest colleges, even better than the private colleges, Every floor has 2 bathrooms, with 2 washing machines. Every room has a LAN port, to which you need to connect a router of your own and use the college Wi-Fi (over 60mbps of speed). There are plenty of hostels, so everyone who applies for rooms, do get one. Even the hostels organize their own sports events here. In the evening, kirba chowk is the best location for snacks in over Burla location, with destinations like 'chai sutta bar', 'Kalia Dhaba', 'dawat', etc. You need to apply for a hostel at the start of the semester and subsequently pay the hostel fees in due time.

VSSUT Burla accepts OJEE for admission to its B.Tech programs. The university releases the OJEE cut-off for each program for the respective categories of students. Please check the cut-off got the B.Tech Civil Engineering program of this university from VSSUT Burla Cut-off.
