College life

We all know that MNIT i.e. malaria national institute of technology is an NIT, so we have to give JEE (joint entrance exam) to be eligible to get admission to this college. The cutoff rank last year for the ECE branch was around 8000 for general and I successfully cleared this cutoff to get admission here. I got admission through counseling done by JOSAA (Joint Seat Allocation Authority) which conducts 6 to 7 rounds of counseling through which we get our desired college and desired branch

I chose this course because I had an immense interest in electronics from my school days. Since many students are pursuing the same branch, it is a bit difficult for faculty to satisfy all of them but still, they give their best to make students understand the concept. The faculty is highly qualified and many are engaged in several research works. Exams have held at interval of 1-1.5 months and are easy to handle if a student has attended all the lectures regularly

Various companies such as de shaw, oracle, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, cesium, sales force Wells Fargo, etc give internship opportunities to deserving students, with stipends ranging from 30000 to even 1 lakh per month. Projects are mostly made based on web development because it is easier to learn. Other options for the project are app development, artificial intelligence/machine learning, etc.

From 3rd semester onwards, students become eligible for campus placements in their respective branches. Various companies visited last year such as de shaw, cesium, sales force, Wells Fargo, Flipkart, Goldman Sachs, oracle, etc. These companies have provided an average package of 15 LPA and the highest package of 20 LPA for a job of SDE and data analyst. Almost 60% of students get decent earning placements either in the core or in the IT sector.

Academic fees are currently 3 lakh per year which is sometimes unaffordable for some students. That is why scholarships are provided by the college to decrease the financial pressure on the students. Great earning campus placements are being done here and many deserving students get their dream jobs.

Various fests are being organized by the college, including Blitzchlag in February, Sphinx in March, and many more to go. Different books written by profound authors, ranging from academic to entertaining books, all are available in the library for the convenience of students. There is a lot to experience and learn from this college. The College campus consists of a sports center and many sports tournaments are being organized here such as chess tournaments, basketball tournaments, cricket tournaments, etc. Recently, inter-nit sports tournaments were being well organized here. Many clubs are being run by students such as Mavericks, debating club, photography club, dance club, singing club, travel, heritage club, etc.

Hostel rooms are well maintained. Three-seater rooms are allocated to first-year students so that they get familiar with each other. Second year onwards, they get single rooms based on their branch with all necessary items provided. The meal is provided by the hostel mess located in nearly every hostel, four times a day. Meal quality is healthier than being tasty. Regular fruits are provided during breakfast. The registration process is simple, students have to simply give consent for hostel requirements then they are allocated their hostels following certain norms. Fees are affordable for many.
