Remarks

you get this college through jee mains rank. After Jee mains and jee advanced, JOSAA seat allocation starts and you can get this college through it. It comes under (nit+system). Josaa contains 6 main rounds and 2 extra rounds (CSAB). If you are getting into this college in any round you have to submit all required details(given on the JOSAA website). Then there will be offline verification in which you have to come to college to submit all the details. Important documents include the 10th and 12th mark sheet, income certificate (from tehsildar) adharcard photocopy anti-ragging certificate from court 4 passport-size photos (needed to paste on admission form). Then you have to submit all fees (around 75000 in my time). you also have to open a student bank account in UCO bank in the college branch for a smooth financial process. if you are from a reserved category, you need to bring a category certificate for that. There is no need for a gap certificate in this college(as some colleges need it). Overseas students have diff processes.

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose this college due to its rich culture and history and legacy this college has over the years. Its NIRF is also good at 40(which decreases from previous year. One this I can guarantee is that the college has some really good and helpful professors. Most of the professors have done PhD from top national and international colleges. Many of them have research journals published. The college has 75% attendance compulsory. Each semester contains class tests, id-sem exams and end-sem exams, difficulty depends on the person's perspective. Keeping cgpa above 8 would be quite good

Internships Opportunities

4

out of a batch of 100 students, only 15-20 students get internship opportunities (although this can increase)in CST, it branch.Companies like google, Microsoft, texas instruments, and Amazon hire interns. Stipends can vary from 1500/month to 1.25 lacs a month.

Placement Experience

4.5

If you are from CST, it, etc branches you will most probably get a decent or very good job if you put in the effort. The average package of the CST branch last year was around 19lacs (which has increased this year). The same was for IT ranch. Etc branch has also average above 10. Companies hiring for core-related jobs come less in number. Atlassian, Microsoft, and google were the top companies that came for recruitment last year.

Fees and Financial Aid

Total fees for this course of 4 years is around 8lacs. You will get a waiver on tuition fees according to your family income. If your family income is less than 1lac you will get a full waiver and if your family income is less than 8 lac s 2/3rd of tuition fees will be waived off. There are many scholarships like GABESU of this college and national and state-level scholarships you can apply.

Campus Life

3.5

REBECCA is an annular cultural fest in this college which happened in the month of may-June. INSTRUO is a technical fest that happens in the college which is also Kolkata's largest technical fest. Many departmental fests are also organised.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostels are allocated on a distance basis. If the distance from your home to this college is less than 70Km you are most unlikely to get hostels. Hostels are old and not up to the mark. You will get 4 seater rooms in the 1st 2nd and 3rd year also(if you don't get halls which are also most likely). Mess food is okay.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
