Likes
- The first thing i liked is its infrastructure, it has a very vast campus to be exact it has occupied approx 780 acres of area. It is surrounded by rivers on three sides.
- It has a very beautiful campus filled with greenery.
- It has good placements in circuital branches like computer science, electronics and communication and electrical with an average in CSE of 19LPA and 100%placement in CSE and ECE.
Dislikes
- What is disliked the most is its high fee structure for b. Tech courses which is around 16LPA for four years.
- The institute is very strict regarding discipline and attendance. 75% attendance is necessary in each subject to pass the subject.
- Placements of core branches is not appreciable. Branches like civil and mechanical does not get 100% placed.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I was interested in computer science. From the JEE preparation time, I was targeting this course. There is no demerit in faculty members. For each subject, there are experienced, teachers and well-qualified teachers. Most of the faculties are alumni of IITs and other premier institutes of India. There are mid-session and end-semester exams, in addition to this, two quizzes are there before and after mid-semester. The passing percentage in each subject is 40%, not much tough.
Internships Opportunities
Microsoft, Walmart, and Amazon are the companies visiting campus for internship opportunities for pre-final year candidates. During the internship, candidates are paid generally a stipend of 50 thousand.
Placement Experience
From the third year of b. Tech you can get internship offers from companies (after the 5th semester). In IT sectors companies like Google, Microsoft, and Facebook also visit. And placements in CSE and ECE are almost 100%. Overall placement is 80%. The highest package till now is 58 LPA from computer science and the average package overall is around 12-13 LPA including all the branches. After getting the degree my plan is to get placed in a good company and we'll see what to do after that.
Fees and Financial Aid
One of the demerits of this institute is its fee structure which is almost 15-16 lakhs for B. tech courses including the hostel fee. And the charges and tuition fee keep on increasing every year a little bit. One scholarship you can get is the GP BIRLA scholarship by the Institute. For this, you have to have a minimum score of 8 CGPA in that particular semester. It provides a 100% scholarship if it is above a 9.5 CGPA.
Campus Life
Tech fests are conducted every year around February. And many other fests are held during the festive season. Around 20 clubs are there for music, dance, coding... cultural fest of the institute is BITOTSAV which is generally organized in Feb-march. students from institutes like NIT Patna bit deoghar and Patna, bit Sindri, ISM IIT Dhanbad, and IIIT Ranchi mostly participate in the fest. All Books are available anytime in the main library. The Institute has a sports complex. We can play basketball, football, volleyball, badminton and many other games. Some clubs are dhwani, dancing clubs, Revolution, Rotaract...
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are very good. You will get a LAN network, and there is no limit to its usage. WI-FI is also installed in the hostels. Hostel meals are also better as compared to other colleges. For the hostel, it is app.19000 for a semester and it can be allotted in the Institute only.
Admission
the entrance exam, we all know that is JEE MAIN. You can get the application form online on the official website of NTA Or JEE main. In BIT mesra there is special counseling for OBC candidates of Jharkhand state only. Some seats are reserved in each branch. All the students are not aware of this counseling, so I want this procedure to be more public so that eligible candidates can be benefited.
