Remarks

After 12th I gave the wbjee exam and then I was selected for this college. The admission process is smooth and the college fees is low as I compare to the other colleges. For reservations available you have to contact the college admission cell you will get the numbers to form the collage website.

Course Curriculum Overview

Here you can get admission in core engineering courses like Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and also Computer Science, ECE and this year's new addition CSBS. The college faculty is good enough and helpful but the student-faculty ratio is not so good.

Fees and Financial Aid

Fees are low as I compare to other colleges and if you are a West Bengal board student you will eligible to get an SVMCM scholarship. If you need an education loan then college will help you for getting the loan.

Campus Life

Campus life is very good you will enjoy this college and there are in every year a fest will be organized and many other cultural events. The college participates in an inter-college sports competition. The classrooms are good but not so good the library is full of engineering books and other books may be available I don't know.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I feel proud being a student of Gmit

Our college campus is fully green campus. All teachers and faculty members are highly qualified and very helpful. All the classrooms are well groomed. Library is very good. All types of books are available in our library. Semester fees is comfortable for all types of students. Admission process is very easy. All types of scholarship are available for all students. Laboratories are decorated by updated instruments. Gym is available in our college. Playground is very clean. Many outdoor games (like: Football, Cricket, badminton etc.) and indoor games (like: chess, caram etc.) are available in our campus. 24Ã—7 hours electricity and water are available.
