Remarks

First I heard about West Bengal joint entrance examination after I pass my 11th board then I fill the form of West Bengal joint entrance examination 2020 and I prepared with some pcm books and appeared for the exam and got a rank of 12k...the admission process was online. The cutoff was around 45 marks for general.

Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is good as compared to other government engineering colleges. Regular classes are taken by the professors. There are total 5 faculties in the CSE department. They are mtech and phd degree holder and have so much knowledge in their domain. There are 4 internals and 2 lab internals. You can pass the semester exam by studying organiser by MAKAUT.

Class Size: 60Course Fees: INR 14400 per year

Placement Experience

In the year of 2022 campus placement happened so far. Highest package was around 9 lpa grabbed by a Electronics and Communication student. And there are several people with less packages like 3.5 to 6 lpa.

Fees and Financial Aid

There is no tution fees for TFW candidates, others can opt for different scholarships like SVMCM , MCM, OASIS and others. There is also a freeship for the meritorious students in the college. And moreover the fee structure is too less for other brunches like EE, CE and ME, it is just 3k per semester.

Campus Life

There are so many clubs in function in this college. Some popular clubs like tech club, music club, debate club, sport's club, coding club are there in the college. Some clubs works so hard to interact and build student community in the college.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
