Remarks

Admission takes place based on the Wbjee examination followed by the Najeeb counseling process (Centralised as well as Decentralised). The application process starts in December. To get a seat in Jadavpur University's engineering department your rank should be under 5500(for the general category)to be safe (upto Decentralised Counselling)

Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

1)I had an interest in the field of civil engineering but also had to find enough time for coding, self-improvement, and also to get free time for preparation for competitive exams. 2)Faculty is highly experienced and qualified, ready to clear your doubts except for a few professors whom you will find difficult to understand and not at all encouraging to clear your concepts. 3)Faculty-student ratio is nearly about 1:8 4)The examinations in our university are tough and the level of question paper lies between moderate to tough accompanied by a tough checking.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

The students of the non-core sector are provided with huge internship opportunities in software Engg companies but a less % of core sector students are provided with internships that too in the software Engg field though many research internships are being provided in the top IITs and research organizations like IISC, IISER, etc. Stipend in software engineering profile intern lies between 10k-50k per month.

Placement Experience

5

Jadavpur University is known for its placement opportunities comparable to top IITs Well a short record of placement in 2021-2022:- No companies visited-150+ No of offers-1450+ % of students placed-95% Average package-12.83 LPA Highest package-1.8 Cr/annum Core sector companies cover about 39% of placement, the IT sector covers about 35% of placement, Fintech and consultancy sector covers 26% of placement

Fees and Financial Aid

Jadavpur University gives the most affordable engineering course on the entire planet, its merely 12000 rupees for 4 long years whereas IITs charge 12 lakh and NITs charge 7-8 lakh for 4 years Btech course but the ROI of Jadavpur University is a massive 110% As I am domiciled in west Bengal and study in a state-funded university I get a 60000 rupees scholarship per annum which is known as Swami Vivekananda Merit cut Means Scholarship.

Campus Life

4

1)Annual tech fest is SRIJAN and the annual cultural fest is SANSKRITI and they are conducted between January-march. 2)Library is available on our campus with huge resources along with a digital room for self-study. 3)Frankly speaking classrooms are not that much attractive as the centrally funded colleges but enough to conduct classes considering the fees. 4)Jadavpur University is a place for every extracurricular activity and you will have enough time as well as peers to pursue your interest. 5)lastly, there are several active and branded clubs in our university ranging from coding, debating, science, motorsports, mountaineering, photography, etc.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
