Course Curriculum Overview
ECE(IoT) Course curriculum is similar to ECE till second year with one and two different subjects in semester 3 and 4 respectively. But from the third year onwards ECE(IoT) have mostly IoT releated subjects. ECE(IoT) have combination of subjects from ECE and IT departments. Faculty student ratio is also good in this branch since it has only one section of 60 students. Most of the faculty are permanent and the teaching method is also good like we have regularly 1 practical class of 2 hours each week for practical subjects and non-practical subjects have tutorial classes. To pass any course, students need to mandatorily pass in end semester exams and overall marks should be greater than 30% in that particular course. Mid sem exams start after 50 days from the start of the semester and after around 90 days of the semester end-semester exams are held. So, scoring marks is relatively easier if you regularly revise topics covered in the class.
Internships Opportunities
Students of the 5th semester and 6th semesters are eligible for on-campus internships. Around 200-300 students get an internship in a year. Most of them are for tech roles like web development, android development, machine learning, and data science. But some companies like Google and Samsung also provide internships in the Electronics field. In Tech roles, most of them demand good Data Structures and Algorithm knowledge, and projects in the technical ground. CGPA also plays a major role in getting an internship. ECE(IoT) branch students are eligible to sit in almost all the companies which come for internship.
Placement Experience
For placement, there is a Training and Placement Cell(TnP) in NSUT which has the responsibility of inviting companies for placement. From the fourth year students are eligible for placement and companies start coming just at the beginning of the 7th semester. All the major companies in India comes here for hiring. The average placement is 12 Lakhs. NSUT TnP has a policy of not disclosing placement details. Around 90% of students get placement. My after degree is to get into Google as SDE.
Fees and Financial Aid
Annually there is a fee hike of around 6%. The cost of the study is College Fee+ Hostel/Room Rent (if avail) + Transport Cost (from House to Campus) + Books(if the book is not available in the library or pdf is not available). Govt of Delhi provides merit-cum-means scholarships for students from low-income families. Students with Ration cards are provided a 100% scholarship on tuition fees. And there is a scholarship of 50% and 25% on tuition for students with less than 2.5 lakh p.a. and 6 lacs p.a family income.
Campus Life
NSUT campus life is far better than other colleges in India with 145 acares of Main Campus consisting of football, cricket, basket ball, badminton, tennis, volleyball grounds, and an open Gym. Main Campus is full of greenly. NSUT conducts two annual fest, one is 'MOKSHA and INNOVISION' in March and the other is 'RESONANZ' in November. NSUT Main Campus has a central library in which you can find books and journals. The library is open from 10 am to 6 pm. NSUT has both modern classrooms and traditional classrooms. Modern lecture hall i.e. APJ Lecture complex consisting of a large lecture hall, huge monitor, dice, and computer at the dice, writing pad, AC facility. And traditional classrooms consist of board and chalk. There are lots of societies in NSUT, from technical to non-technical. You may open new ones if you want and get them registered by the Dean of Student Welfare.
Other Applied Colleges
Delhi Technological University - [DTU] | Bachelor of Technology [B.Tech] (Electrical and Electronics Engineering)
Coding culture of NSUT is better than DTU and NSUT is near metro station, therefore I opted NSUT above DTU.
