Best NSUT Review

We have to give JEE MAINS exam for admission into NSUT, after that counselling happens through JAC (Joint Admission Counselling), this counselling is only for 4 Delhi colleges - DTU, NSUT, IIITD, IGDTUW. The application form and date will be available on the official website of NTA. Candidates first have to pay the application fee (around Rs 1500), JEE MAIN roll no. will be required, and then fill out the application form on the JAC website. After filling application form, you will then fill in choices according to preference (fill in as many choices as possible !!) and provide 1st priority to your most desired college+branch. Then when you are sure you can lock the choices, otherwise they will get automatically locked after the registeration period is over. The cutoff for computer engineering for the general category started with around 3000 for 1st round and went to around 7000 for the last round.

I choose Computer Engineering (COE/CSE) because I wanted to go into the tech field. The Course Curriculum of NSUT has been updated a few years ago, and it is quite good. The faculties are quite nice and are PhDs. There are 3 sections of COE and I had 70 students in my section. The examination process of NSUT is as follows - Short Test I, Mid Semester Examination, Short Test II / Lab Viva, Practical Examination, End Semester Examination Exams happen timely according to the academic calendar issued during starting of the semester. Exams are of good level.

Internship season starts a few weeks before the start of the 5th semester and generally goes on till the end of the semester. Many companies that come for placements also come for internships, and they hire you for internships for generally 2 months in the summer vacations that happen after your 6th semester. Roles included are web developer, mobile app developer, devOps, data analyst, content writer, etc, stipend varies from company to company, and some offers are as high as 1.5 lacs per month. In your internship (which can also happen at a remote place like Bangalore, or Hyderabad) you will do projects under their guidance.

The placement record of NSUT is at the top. You become eligible for placements from the 7th semester (actually a few weeks before the 7th sem). Many top companies visit NSUT like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Uber, Salesforce, Samsung, Apple, JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, Atlassian, Intuit, etc. with certain packages going as high has 40-45 lacs. They hire you for SDE, Data Analyst, Business Analyst, DevOps, Web Developer, Android Developer, etc. type of roles. Almost 90% of students in computer science get placed.

Fees structure is divided into 4 years, where full-year fees are taken before starting of every year. The 1st-year fee is around 2 lacs and it gets incremented by 10000 after every year. There is financial assistance is provided to financially weaker families according to their family income, (threshold is 8 lacs).

Life at NSUT is very happening. There are many societies in various fields, from music, and dance to gaming, literature, coding, etc. You can join them in your 1st year or 2nd year. The Annual Fest of NSUT is Moksha which happens in march, it is conducted for 3 days. Various events are conducted by various societies (coding events too). There is a central library which is completely air-conditioned and where you can go study with your friends, all the books you need will be available there. In your first year, you will be studying in the new APJ auditoriums which are high-class rooms with a big screen. But there after that, you will be studying in your normal school-like classrooms with a blackboard and chalk. Practical happens in Lab which is very good. There is a Student activity center which includes a badminton court, Table tennis room, and Gym. Then there is a big ground which includes a cricket ground, football ground, basketball court, and volleyball court.
