Remarks

Admissions to the college are through JEE or DASA. Having filled in for JAC counseling, I was allotted this course in 3rd round of counseling. The application process was quite smooth with jac telling in each step how to proceed with further rounds. Once I freeze my seat, the NSUT registration begins with everything being online. All I had to do was submit the documents online and pay the rest of the fees and the admission process was complete. One improvement that could be made in the admission process is that dates of the further rounds could be declared beforehand and further rounds could be sped up because people getting admission through spot rounds often miss the classes of the first week.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The ECE branch in NSUT is the oldest branch along with ICE. Hence it boasts of having the most experienced professors who have so much in-depth knowledge of the subjects they teach. The teachers are so qualified and some of them have an experience of 20+ years. It is very easy to approach teachers for writing research papers under their guidance and mentorship. The teaching method is mainly offline and doubts can be cleared either in the classroom or one-to-one in their cabin. Talking about exams, the exams have a moderate to difficult level but can be passed easily if studied from the teachers' notes or from the books recommended by them. The end term exams have a sufficient gap in between them and if studied properly could be aced easily.

Internships Opportunities

4.5

A lot of companies visit the campus every year and students after completing their 4th sem can sit for internship opportunities. The company offers a variety of roles in all the tech, core, and non-tech domains with a good stipend for the 2-month internship. They take 2-3 rounds of tests before selecting the final candidates. We just need to hone our skills to make sure we are competitive enough for the roles offered. Making a good resume is a part of the process and the resume must include some projects to showcase your skill set and to make sure your resume outshines the others. As for tech you could have web or ml projects along with a stronghold in DSA.

Placement Experience

5

After the 4th sem, many companies like Google, Microsoft, Atlassian, etc visit the campus brimming with internship opportunities that are to be done after the 6th sem. Various tech and non-tech offers are made and a good stipend is offered for the two-month internship. TnP is very supportive in making sure the recruitment process is carried smoothly and also organizes a plethora of webinars to make sure students are getting all the required help for prep as well. After 6th sem, a very large number of companies visit the campus with placement opportunities in core tech and non-tech domains. Around 90%+ students get placed every year. The placement opportunities in the college are very good all you are required to do is work on your skills. My plans after getting the degree are mainly to do a job for a couple of years and then go for further studies.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee is a bit hefty but that's the scene for all the JAC colleges. Every year the fees are hiked by 10-20k and we have to pay the entire year's fees at once in June-July. But there are several schemes and incentives given by NSUT to assist financially. The CVSPK scheme offers the required financial help. It has three categories namely - the talent incentive scheme- which is to reward the high scorers of JEE and branch-wise high scorers and alumni who bag exceptional ranks in competitive exams like GATE,CAT, UPSC, etc. Next is FWS financial assistance scheme - this is to assist the financially weaker students who could not achieve scholarships under the first category. You just need to provide all the documents mentioned to get the scholarship. And the last category is to assist those students whose working parents died. Apart from this in the third year we also get internships to support ourselves financially.

Campus Life

4.5

Moksha is the annual cultural fest of NSUT that is held in March from 24-26th and Resonanz is the annual tech fest of NSUT conducted in the month of October from 14th-16th. It has an average footfall of around 25k people and a lineup of around 150 engaging events. The NSUT library is very grand and it has books ranging on all the subjects inclusive of the course books. All the past year's papers, research papers, and books from even outside the course everything is available in the library and can be issued via library card free of cost. The classrooms are well furnished with desks with enough seating capability. We also have APJ lecture halls having a seating capacity of around 100 students with big tv screens and with every facility required. We have around 30+ societies that are run by students ranging from debating society to dancing to philosophy to social welfare to whatnot. We also have a sports fest Agastya and also send teams to many many tournaments.

The placements of MAIT are decent as compared to market conditions. But the data shown on website or availble at various platforms is not the reality. The mass chunk of students who get a job are placed under and around 6LPA package.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.

Placements are good in DTU. Usually a student is eligible to sit in placements from 4th year. Last year 325+ companies visited the campus like google, abode, Amazon, Microsoft, zomato, samsung, maruti suzuki, etc. They all have made 2050+ offers. The highest domestic package was offered by Atlanssian of 82.05LPA. The overall average package was 16.71LPA. The average package of my branch (Production and Industrial Engineering) was 12.34LPA. And in tech branches like CSE, IT it was around 24-25 LPA. Almost everyone is allowed to sit for placements. In PIE branch around 60-65% of student got placed in on campus.
