NSUT Review

To enroll in a prestigious college like NSUT, you need to be qualified in the 12th or equivalent level. After that, we need to give Joint Entrance Exam, and a student has to secure 99+ percentile to get a seat in tech branches in the general category. After that, JAC counseling is conducted based on JEE score jointly by DTU, IGDTUW, NSUT, and IIIT. International students get admission through DASA, based on SAT scores.

Being a tech enthusiast I was keenly interested in Computer Science and the curriculum is appropriate according to that. Faculty to student ratio is good and are highly qualified and friendly. They are mostly Ph.D. graduates and are experienced in teaching. But some faculties don't focus on teaching that much and miss classes so the syllabus is left incomplete but the whole syllabus is covered in exams. Term exams are sometimes on a daily basis which is difficult to manage, else easily passable.

Most companies that come for placements also come for internships at the same time. They recruit students who have completed their 2 years of study. Stipend offered is quite decent ranging up to 2 lakhs per month. Most companies hire for tech roles.

College placements are certainly good. Students become eligible to apply after the 6th sem i.e. after the 3rd year. Many high-profile companies visit the campus such as Google, Microsoft, Adobe, etc. Placed student percentage is quite high as the number of companies visiting campus is high. More than 92% of students get placed that apply for placements.

Fees are very high given that NSUT is a government college. We have fees above 2 lakhs per annum which at times is difficult to manage. Regarding scholarships, we have to first avail of government-based scholarships based on merit or financial conditions of family or we can try college scholarships. But they are very untimely.

Annual fests are conducted at NSUT in Moksha. In this, intercollege competitions are held and many fun events for students are also organized. It is usually conducted in the month of February or March. Books, Journals, and PYQs are generally available in the library. New classrooms built have more than necessary amenities but the old ones are like school classrooms, although they are being renovated. Sports and extracurricular activities are all good. Many societies organize events and build skills. There are various cultural societies too.
