Remarks

Good Remarks: Proper sanitation and supply of everything. There are 3 Eating Hubs in the college namely- Amul, Nescafe and the Canteen. There is a stationary shop also where every stationary material is available. Bad: As the construction of DTU building was held long ago, they aren't that good in look. But the OAT is Damn Beautiful.

Entrance Preview

I gave JEE and BITSAT in 2016. I scored 170 in JEE Mains and got 95.6% in CBSE Board examinations. As per my research I would have secured EEE and ECE branch at Delhi Technological University(DTU). And finally I got ECE. After doing more research, I came to know that college is not only known for its placement statistics but also known for cultural and social life. That's why I opted for DTU.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

The curriculum of every branch consists of the old subjects and the new ones with special focus on research. Teachers are always available to guide students through the research process and publishing research papers. Many B.Tech and M.Tech students have published their research papers not only in India but in foreign conferences too.

Internships Opportunities

Apart from the placement internship in the third year, college provides University Welfare six month Internships to students to work for the welfare and betterment of the college. Interviews are held for the selection process which consists of 2 rounds. The students selected work under some teachers on different areas of college welfare.

Placement Experience

5

Placements have been excellent in Delhi Technological University. 95% of 2k16 got placed in leading firms, PSUs and startups in every field. Many o students secured PPO from their internship beacuse of their good performance therein. In CS branch, more than 40 students secured over 40L package in leading software companies and a student got package of 1.23 Crores from Uber, San Francisco. Around 20 Electronics students secured packages in range 15-20L in core companies. And students of any branches have got good packages in non-tech firms in range 12-18L.

College Events

5

There are four festivals held in the college annually. These are- Technical fest, Literary Fest, Cultural Fest and Sports Fest. Technical fest this year was a great success as many students from all over Delhi/NCR came to participate in various technical contests and won exciting prizes. 24-hour hackathons were conducted in the college which was a great success as there were more than 100 participants. Literary Fest was conducted for the first time this year in which various literary contests and fun events were held. Many Writers and authors came to address college students about their life and also ignited students to work for the country. Cultural Fest in DTU called as ENGIFEST was a great success in 2017 and 2016 both. There was a footfall of people crossing 40K in the concert ground. Sunidhi Chauhan came in the LiveWire concert waving the crowd with her beautiful voice. On the second day, Lagori Band came for the Rock Concert and the crowd was enjoying their energy and voice. And how can anyone in the college forget the third day, the EDM night. Over 40K people visited the concert to wave on NUCLEYA's heavy beats. That day was memorable indeed. The Sports Fest called Aahvaan was a great success this year. People from delhi and nearby states came to participate in various sport events and some sportspersons came for a sports meet. Each day of the sports fest ended with a concert. This much explanation is enough to describe how awesome cultural life in the college is.

Fee Structure And Facilities

Rs.1,26,000 in the first year and the fees increases by 4-5 thousand after each year. Many students are offered scholarship depending on their family background and their academic performance . Those who are doing great are also offered internships in various companies.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes! There is Tuition fee waiver scheme for parential income less than 5 or 6 lpa. Now the amount benifit is not instantaneously credited. Its a process of around 4–6 months as like Online application Uploading documents Documents verification List of students with shortcomings in documents Reopening of portal for them. Campus Life

4.5

Things I love about Delhi Technological University - 1. The college gate: Yes, its true. Whenever I pass by the huge main gate of ours, a rush of pride surges in. The gate is magnificent and never fails to give a nice feel when we return to college after the vacations. 2. No Pressure: This is the best part about the college. Neither the classes nor the syllabus are nerve-wrecking. The syllabus, at least for the Mechanical Engg including the first year which has common subjects, is very relaxed and doesn't require a lot of time to cover. Here, you can just read for a couple of days before exams and still score decent marks. So does that mean it is making us lazy and reducing or hard-working streak that we gathered when where in High school? Absolutely not. Those who wish to obtain "great" marks, have to study. This is like it is easy to score 65-70% but is relatively tough to touch that illustrous 80. And this provides us with oodles of time to do our thing. You could sit down ad code all day, join a cultural team and develop your true potential, build a car or any sort of machine that flies and/or prepare for PSCs/CAT/GATE/GRE/GMAT etc etc without having to worry too much about your grades. 3. The Hostel life: Since only 15% students from outside of Delhi are allowed in the college and the hostel, I will tell you what the crowd's like, in general, at the hostels. We are a bunch of people who were good at studies, were lauded by our teachers and friends back in schools and were supposed to land up at IITs with great ranks. But, that didn't happen and no one here regrets it(well, a few bad apples are there in every basket :P). So, we are people who screwed up their high school so we have a ot of experience - In every field possible. We have done things so have a lot of stories to tell and a lot of courage to pull off certain suicidal missions. That makes the hostels the coolest place on earth. When I talk to my friends who read at "better ranked" colleges, I realise how boring their hostel life it and thanks heaven that I made it to DTU! The students at hostel are very talented and very supportive. 4. The Seniors: Well, I will speak on this point on the basis of my interaction with the seniors. See, there is a very unfair rule in the college that completely bans ragging. This rule completely impairs the senior-junior relationship which is a very, very important part of college life. As your seniors will be your best guides and often, great friends. I feel myself very lucks to have great seniors across all the departments. We hang out and party together and its awesome every single time. 5. Chilled-out teachers: You, surely, will come across some teachers in your 4 years here that would appear to be pure evil. But trust me, the majority of faculty are pretty decent and quite relaxed when it comes to following rules. Hell, my attendance was three times below the minimum required and still have no detentions. (Now, this is department specific. You should come to the college at least half the time to avoid any unfavorable circumstances) Enough said, teachers are great. 6. The Common room: Well, if the United-Arsenal match is on(like yesterday), the best place to be at after the Emirates Stadium is the hostel common room. So much energy and passion. This is the pace where the premier league becomes real. 7. The Birthdays: Every birthday here is special. Since, there are so few students in the hostels, the birthdays are even more special as almost everyone chimes in. 8. All Night Sports: Exam or no-exam. The badminton, the Table tennis and the street football goes on all night. And the sleep you get after those tiring matches are the most comforting. Inevitably, there are a few down sides like, the academic department often lags in it's works, the hostel department is prehistoric, the college is on the edge of Delhi and almost everything is far away but it doesn't matter much (Courtesy: DMRC), the college is a bit cramped due to the huge intake of students and a couple more that you will get to know here and there. So, all I can say is that the life at DTU is exceptional, enthusing, exuberant, ecstatic and the awesomest ever!

Hostel Facilities

4.5

Hostel Facilities in the college are quite good. In the first year, in each hostel compartment, three students reside. They are given proper supply of water, electricity and food. Hostel mess of every college is yukkkkkkk. Same is the case in our college.

Alumni/Alumna

A university is judged by its faculty, research and alumni. Sadly, we are yet to bump up the standards for the first two. The alumni of DTU is the pride and legacy which we hope to continue. The amazing fact remains that even with the low standard of research guidance provided, the students are still able to make a mark. The thing to wonder is that if we HAD been provided the same facilities at IIITD or IITD, just how far could we have gone.

Exam Structure

Exams are held two times in a semester- Mid-semester and End-semester exams. Internal tests are also held in the classrooms whose marks are finally added in the result. Labs of one subject are conducted 3-4 days in a week. Students are allowed to leave once they have completed their experiment and submitted the apparatus. Therefore, exams and labs are chilled out.

Admission

To enter DTU, I gave JEE Mains and secured 14K rank. Then I had to register on www.jacdelhi.nic.in for the counselling process. JAC Delhi conducts counselling of DTU, NSIT, IIITD and IGDTU together. After some days, notices regarding the admission process were released. And after 4 successive rounds, I got ECE in DTU.

Faculty

4

The faculty in Delhi Technological University is quite good. They usually allow mass bunks when students want to but they do take care of 75% attendance. They are always keen to help and advise students in almost every field from academics and research to placements.

When it comes to curriculum everything us fine accept 1st year curriculum. My branch is ece in 1st year i have to study chemistry and physics which is no use for anybody in future it is just waste of time pretty outdated. For 2,3 and 4th year curriculum is far better than what it is in 1st year. Odd semester starts form August and after 2 month we have to give midsem exam.1 month after midsem we have to give endsem. There is very short time period between midsem and endsem examinations.Even semester starts form January everything is same as that of odd semester.
