Course Curriculum Overview
The course curriculum is the same for most of the branches of the B.Tech course for the first year. The curriculum contains 5 subjects and one optional subject. I have a special interest in mathematics, thus I chose this course. The Faculty members are very good. They are experienced and well-qualified. Every teacher has a minimum experience of 5-6 years and all of them are either Ph.D. or have completed research and higher studies from reputed institutions. Since the semester started late, the first semester is of only 4 months this time. After 1.5 months, the mid seems to start. Other than the mid-semester and end semester, there are also class tests, at least one for each semester. The difficulty level for the exams was moderate to difficult.
Internships Opportunities
One can apply for internships as soon as one comes to college. Even students in the first semester can get internship opportunities at Google, Microsoft, etc. if they satisfy the requirements. The stipend ranges from 25k to anywhere around 1L.
Placement Experience
The placements at the college are great. The average package was about 18 LPA for the year 2022 while the highest package offer was 1.2Cr. Mostly every student gets placed provided they have the required skills and have a decent score in their academics. Companies like Google, Microsoft, and Adobe visit the campus every year for recruiting students. After getting the degree, I plan to sit for the on-campus placements. If by any chance, I am not able to get a job during the placement season, I will apply for off-campus placements or pursue MBA.
Fees and Financial Aid
The Fees for the B.Tech course from my college are quite high but not as high as VITs or BITS. The total course fees for every year increase each year by about 10000-11000. The first year's fees are 219000, the second year's fees are 229000, the third year's fees are 240000, and the fourth year's fees are 250000. Students can also avail of scholarships through categories and low annual family income if any.
Campus Life
The college life at NSUT is amazing. The campus area is about 144 acres. There are two fests each year and they are very great. The crowd of the college is also very decent and well-mannered. The library contains well-kept books and one can find nearly any book that he wants to read. the classrooms and washrooms are well-maintained and hygienic. The college also organizes intra-college sports competitions frequently where students from different branches of the college form teams and compete with students from other courses. There are many communities and groups in the college like DebSoc NSUT, IEEE NSUT, Venatus NSUT, etc.
Admission
Netaji Subhash University of Technology (NSUT) takes admissions based on the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains) percentile. One needs to score a decent percentile to take admission to my college. NSUT takes admissions through the Joint Admission Counselling (JAC Delhi) after the completion of JEE. The application fee for JAC Delhi is 1500 INR and that for JEE mains is 1000 INR. Students can avail of the benefits of reservation if any. The reservations that can be availed are EWS, OBC (NCL), SC, ST, and other quotas like Kashmiri migrant, defense, only girl child, etc. My reservation (OBC) helped me a lot during the admission process and helped me secure a seat in a very decent course at the university with a rank of around 62000.
