Course Curriculum Overview

The course curriculum is a little outdated since it follows MAKAUT which is a little outdated however the faculty members are very good and very supportive which helps students very much in their faith and development.

The college helps students to get internship opportunities and help them in advancing their career and provide them with experience and practical knowledge which the teachers also help a lot which is very impressive.

Placement Experience

The placement cell of our college is very good and very hardworking and helps students a lot however most of the students get placed in mainly TCS, Cognizant, and Wipro which offer an average package of 4.6 LPA.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees for this college are not much and affordable for the middle class which 12000 per year also there are many scholarships and freedoms available for many students however students from boards other than WB don't get any scholarships.

Our campus life is very good the campus is mediums sized depending upon the number of students and classes and is very beautiful the environment is calm and relaxing for students however, there are no good transport facilities.

Hostel Facilities

First and second-year students don't get hostel facilities from the College they have rent messes of which mess owners are very arrogant and selfish for which they charge a lot this is the worst disadvantage for students.

Hostel Fee: INR 30000 per year

Admission

I got admission into the college by cracking Wbjee (West Bengal joint entrance examination) and got admitted into Ramkrishna Mahato Government Engineering College into Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Placement Experience:

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

It's my decision from class 12 that I will do civil engineering, so I chose the civil branch, the course curriculum is well and the teaching level is good but the main problem is lab, there is very limited classes for lab, so I think they should improve there.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

I applied in in the Government engineering colleges only and I cut conferred admission in this college. I choose this college over the others because I got the confirm admission in it. And if I tell about the admission process of this college, then I have to say this is a Government engineering College which is affiliated to AICTE and students can take admission through WBJEE counseling only and for these students have to qualify the wbt exam and have to secure a particular rank to get admission...Read More

A brief overview of RKMGEC

The main reason students come to this college is because of the fact that fees are affordable and also this is purely government college. Admission process is quite easy you need all the necessary documents (Aadhar, Pan, etc) along with your WBJEE scorecard and rankcard. Other important fact to mention is that only students who are permanent resident of West Bengal can seek for admission. You need a domicile certificate for that....Read More

I applied for many other colleges like Jadavpur university, IEM but wasn't able to make ther with my rank and financial instability. I opted for RKMGEC because it offered a compeling mix of quality education,easy faculty and lowe tuition fees. The eligibility was based on west bengal joint entrance examination (WBJEE) scores with specific cutoffs which vary every year. I face rejection from a couple of other top tier colleges primarily due to high competition and slightly lower intense exams scores.
