Course Curriculum Overview

4

I choose ECE because I wanted a course based on both hardware and software in detail. Which the IRPE departs. The university does this very efficiently. The faculties for all electronics-based subjects are good. They teach the topics thoroughly with as much explanation, as they are Ph.D. Scholars. The exams are tougher than the other universities having even stricter checking processes. You get around 5 months in every sem and you have two internals between the sem. So you come to this university for studies rather than expectations of enjoyment.

Internships Opportunities

3.5

I haven't personally had any internship experiences yet. But I know about certain seniors who have got quite got opportunities in some good companies like Google, Texas instruments, etc. They give a good stipend for internship opportunities if you are capable enough.

Placement Experience

1.5

The placement opportunity is available after you get into the seven semesters. The placement percentage is good, but the packages offered by the companies are low Because the mass recruiter companies visit. Since the course gives a thorough knowledge of electronics and microprocessor designing. I would personally prefer to go for off-campus placements.

Fees and Financial Aid

The fee structure is very affordable and is the bare minimum it can be for any BTech degree, and I don't think you would require any scholarships. If needed you can always get the national scholarships every year.

Campus Life

2.5

Life is campus is very much different than other universities. The focus on studies is more so the students are generally free for other things. But there are always opportunities for technical fest and competitions. The sports are not as active as they should be, I personally want more involvement in sports activity. The library is very good, almost all the books are available regarding your subjects.

Admission

Selection is done based on your Wbjee rank. The cutoff for outside Bengal students is very high (1200 for my depart. ECE) just after Jadavpur university. The admission process is what every other university in Kolkata provides. The fee structure for the course is given on the university website.

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
