What Students Say
Likes
- Campus is very big and It feels like home when being with friends in canteen or amul. Entire campus is fully connected with internet.
- Playgrounds are very big and have plenty of space for a lot of sports.
- Fests are very good and we feel tension free for that week in the fest and participate in hackathons as much as possible organized by societies
Dislikes
- Attendence rule is highly dicouraging as one feels overburdened and the innovative ideas get buried in attending classes and asking for attendence by running behind teahers.
- Maintaining CGPA is very difficult as you have to study for you coursework and also prepare for internships/ plcements/ side hustle.
- Teachers are not always very supportive in you problems, you have to deal with them on you own.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because the placements in the computer science department are very good at NSUT. Briefly speaking the faculty-student ratio is about 1:10 Almost all the senior faculties are highly educated and have done Ph.D. in their respective fields and departments. The teaching methods of 3 teachers out of 10 are good. that 30% of teachers actually take interest in making students understand the concept and other just do their work for the sake of doing it by just uploading the ppts on google classroom. Some exams tend to be very easy but some are just very hard that they make students tend to fail the end-semester exams. overall making cgpa above 8 is very difficult in NSUT (computer engineering). If anyone is able to do so are considered intelligent and companies prefer that student who has a higher cgpa.
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements just after the 6th semester. More than 100 companies visit our college and the Dream category companies offer CTCs of more than 15 lakhs per annum. {CTC/12 is not the monthly income}. Although CTCs generally go up to 80 LPA. Atlassian offered 82 LPA this year which is the highest for the inside India offer. Profiles offered are Software developer, Frontend developer, full stack developer, analyst, marketing, product design, RnD, etc. more than 90% of students get placed in our college and that number rises higher if we consider the top branches like computer engineering. I will appear for placements and just work for the company. and if It does not suit me then I would give CDS/AFCAT a try as I have been once shortlisted for this in NDA 485 batch.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every year the fees are increased by 7-9% more than the previous year's batch. I took admission in 2020. So my total 4-year fee is 8,40,000. There are a lot of scholarship opportunities in college. Some of them are NSP, MCM, topper of each branch are given an additional scholarship. In MCM if you have a ration card and your annual income is less than 1 LPA then you will get a 100% scholarship of around (1,44,000). If you have a ration card and your annual income is less than 2 LPA then you will get 50% and if your annual income is less than 6lpa then you will get 10% i.e. 36000. After the 3-month vacation of the 4th semester, companies will arrive for offering you internships that you can apply for if you take my advice then prepare dsa and cp from leetcode and code forces so that you can lend at a good company.
Campus Life
The annual fest is conducted in March every year in the name of (Moksha). Last year it observed a footfall of around 20k students. Tech fest is conducted in October every year in the name of Innovision is the annual inter-college, techno-managerial fest of the Netaji Subhas University of Technology, which was conceived in 2002 as solely a technological fest. But as the years sped by, the vision expanded to contain not just technological events but managerial events as well. Rezonanz is the annual intra-college cultural festival of the Netaji Subhas University of Technology. Held every odd semester, it is an attempt to showcase the talents of students in NSIT through an array of events & competitions.
Admission
The admission process was not so long as after the result of JEE MAINS came out we were supposed to fill out the JAC Delhi form. In that form, we filled out our preferences for courses in colleges like NSUT, DTU, IIITD, and IGDTUW. As I am from the OBC category, I got a significant amount of concessions in the general rank. The admission process was overall quite smooth so I don't think anything needs a change in it.
