NIT Rourkela, you won't regret coming here.

The electrical engineering curriculum is structured well enough but the difficulty level of it is a bit hectic. The level is harder than the gate. The professors are good in terms of their knowledge but not so good in terms of attitude. The exams for the 1st year batch in the year 2022-23 were conducted quickly (2 months gap and 4 exams (2 mid-sem 2 end-sem)), as the classes started late. The portion was adjusted accordingly, and the difficulty wasn't much hectic, it depends on how much you study, even studying 2 days before the exam can fetch you 70% at least. There are a lot of faculty members present, maybe 200 300.

The college provides 6 month internship in the 4th year. For the rest of the years, on-campus internships are hard. Most people apply for off campus. One should obviously have a decent CGPA and no backlog to avail of the 6-month internship.

The placements in the college are easily provided since it is a good NIT. The number of companies visiting is increasing rapidly. It is reportedly said that the average package was 13 LPA this year which is 3lpa more than the previous. Almost all students get placed.

The fee structure is similar to other NITs. The college approves of any scholarship you apply for like NSP. If you are a minor category student then you will be granted with free tuition fee. The approx fee for a general student is around 1 lakh per sem.

There are multiple fests happening on a big scale every year. Some of them are Innovision, Cosmopolitan, Nitrutsuv, etc. The months in which they are conducted have changed due to the lockdown, but the most recent one (innovation) occurred in November, and now we have cosmopolitan in Jan. The availability of books in the library is a little bit problem. Even though it is said that there are 80000 books, there really aren't. If you are looking for a popular academic book, chances are that the edition is outdated and it is borrowed many times. But the reading room facility in the library is good. The classrooms for the first year are fancy. Instead of the old-fashioned blackboard, they teach us to touch the screen board and projectors. It is a smart classroom till the very minute detail. People play sports in the institute every day. Whenever you see outside there is someone playing badminton or table tennis or indoor games like carrom or chess. There are a plethora of clubs and societies too.

The hostel registration procedure was very easy. You just had to fill out a form after your admission was done. The mess food is also tasty, just the only issue is that it may get repetitive after a month or two.

I enrolled via jee, the josaa process was over online and after that, the institute told us to pre-register through their website called e-application. A week later they called us for physical verification and all the documents were checked. The fees (josaa and admission) needed to be paid before all this. All the application forms were found on the e-application website.
