Course Curriculum Overview
I chose this course because I like physics too much, especially the astrophysics part. We have like 10-12 professors in total in our physics department and nearly 8-10 lab assistants. My 3rd-year class strength is like 60 students but there are about 15 -20 students in the first and second years. The professors are qualified well enough in their respective fields. All the professors have done their Ph.D. and research and now they are teaching. The teaching method is good enough but some professors seriously need to understand that visualization is the key. They focus too much on the mathematical part of the course. They are somehow not able to share their knowledge with us and what they are trying to say. But indeed they are well-read and masters in their field. The term exams were moderately difficult and a student could pass the exam if he can learn and memorize things.
Internships Opportunities
To be honest, there are a decent amount of internships but all of them are available for folks who know how to code very well. Dissertations are available too but only 1-2 students are selected from the whole department. Generally, the stipend is not provided or it's less but the thing that matters is you get the much-needed experience and exposure if want admission to any foreign university, they provide you with recommendations that help to strengthen your seat in foreign universities. But the only discretion I have is there should be some projects or internships in which you use actual physics knowledge and perform physical experiments rather than sitting in front of this laptop thingy.
Placement Experience
Talking about my course, Physics honors there are no such course-specific placements but of course, you can sit in other courses placements if they have mentioned the name of your course. But nearly all the students who are in Physics honors either wanna do a master's and Ph.D. after the bachelor's or they wanna crack some government exam and they are just doing physics for the sake of graduating. Talking about me, I wanna further study and probably wanna be an astrophysicist in the future.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees Are really affordable and our college provides financial aid too. There's a fully stacked library with books and you can go there and study peacefully. Books are readily available and can be issued from the library by showing your college id card. There are no such jobs available on campus.
Campus Life
Life on Delhi university's north campus is really amazing. The fest takes place in the month of February in most colleges. Cultural programs are held all throughout the year in our college. Different societies take up this initiative. Our classroom has two ac and a smart board in it. It too has sliding blackboards which you might be familiar with. Well, Khalsa college has the best sports faculty let me tell you. Our ground is amazing and all types of sports can be played on it from hockey to football. There's a separate lawn tennis court too. There is various society like debate and civil service societies which recruits once or twice a year. We have an NSS team in our college too which does charity work and various campaigns and drives.
Admission
The admission process was completely online and smooth. You just have to create an account on Delhi university's website du.ac.in and just wait for the cutoff. Once you have cleared the cutoff of a certain college then there's an option to apply by giving yearly fees of that college once the college has accepted your request. You can transfer from one college to another too by paying a small amount transfer fee which would be deducted from the fees you paid to book your seat in the previous college you took admitted in. Reservation if any, needs to be certified through the government of India and needs to be uploaded while filling out the admission form. For all science courses at Delhi University, you ought to have Physics, chemistry, and maths in your +2 in school
