A comprehensive review of IIT ISM Dhanbad: Academics, Placements, Campus Life, and beyond

I chose this course due to my interest in the science of computers and wanted to learn and develop my programming skills. The faculty: student ratio of 1:125 suggests there is a relatively large number of students in the program, which can have both advantages and disadvantages. On the one hand, it may mean that there are more resources and opportunities available to students, such as a wider variety of elective courses and extracurricular activities. On the other hand, it may mean that there is less individual attention and support from faculty members. Faculty members are highly qualified and widely experienced in their field. They have a strong background in computer science as well as teaching experience exams occur regularly in 2 months which is a good schedule as it provides students with a routine that allows them to claim their study time effectively the exams are good to take with the required preparation.

The college offers various internship opportunities to students through its internship and placement cell. The internships are offered by various companies from different sectors such as IT, consulting, finance, eCommerce, and oil & gas. Companies such as Google, Microsoft, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, and Deloitte have been known to offer internships to students. The roles offered and their internships vary depending on the company and the student's interest and skills but typically include roles in software development, data analytics, finance, and project management. The internships are generally paid internships and the stipend offered varies depending on the company and their role. The projects offered during the internships are usually related to the company's field of work and students get the opportunity to work on real-world projects and gain hands-on experience. The outcomes of the internships are evaluated by the company and the college, and a certificate is provided at the completion.

The college is known for its strong track record of placements will stop the placement process usually begins in the final semester of the program and students become eligible for campus placements from the final semester. The annual fest and tech fest are called Srijan and Concetto respectively and are usually conducted in March. The meal quality at the hostel mess is generally considered to be good and the menu is varied and includes both vegetarian and non-vegetarian options the hostel mess operates on a prepaid card system which is refilled by students periodically. The registration process for the hostel is done during the admission process. The availability of hostel seeds is limited and is allotted on a first-come first served basis. The hostel fee is included in the total fees of the institute and is considered to be affordable. In the case of rented accommodation, the locality of the college is a bit remote and the options for rented accommodation are limited. However, there are options for PG hostels and rented rooms.

The admission process for JEE (Joint Entrance Examination), which is the entrance exam for admission to undergraduate engineering programs in India, typically involves a multi-step process. The eligibility for appearing for JEE Main is that candidate should have passed the 12th class or equivalent or should be in the final year of class 12th. After the results are out, candidates are called for JOSAA counseling, where they are given the option to choose the college and course of their preference based on the availability of seats. As for improvement, I would suggest streamlining the registration process, making it more user-friendly.
