Course Curriculum Overview

5

My course is fully about physics, physics deals with our day to day life every our actions deals with physics now a days physics graduates are mostly needed to research feilds the engineering Physics is a flexible program that combines a firm foundation in physics and mathematics with the freedom to choose from a diverse range of technical options the curriculum is designed to prepare students for a wide variety of technical and professional careers, including graduate study in physics or a closely allied field.

Internships Opportunities

The Internship program in the final semester in an area of the students choice provides the necessary hands on experience to prepare the student for the outside world all of our students benefit from the opportunity to develop professional skills applicable to fields such as teaching disadvantaged children, publishing, editing, communications, journalism, information science and archival work.

Placement Experience

4.5

Madras christian college has always been one of the most preferred sources for campus recruitment for Corporates and other recruiters, both Indian and Overseas. It is a matter of pride that the alumni of Madras Christian College are now business heads, and even global leaders ms Indra Nooyi, the Chairperson of the PepsiCo World is a prime example of the leadership qualities that MCC always guaranteed.Globalization opened up job market like never before, and the demand for graduates and Postgraduates from Arts & Science Colleges, is increasing day by day some of the corporate houses are looking for mass recruitments for their facilities all over the world there is no shortage of jobs in the present scenario, although there is a clear shortage of qualified employable candidates from the colleges.

College Events

5

"Symban" meaning big event is a intercollegiate Physics fest organized by the department of Physics (SFS) in order to promote learning and understanding of the basic concepts of Physics this is done through unconventional means, i.e, not involving a classroom and textbooks it involves programmes such as Physics Quiz, Paper Presentation, Dumb Charades et we recognize the fact that text based learning becomes tedious at a certain point, and in order to retain the interest of students, we conduct this programme, which gives them a much needed relief from the classroom learning, and yet educates them the most imprtant feature of this programme is that it is organized and conducted by students this is so as to ensure that the students that graduate are able to take up positions of leadership and are able to successfully conduct an event a much needed ability in the modern world.

5

The jewel in selaiyurs crown undoubtedly is its annual inter-hall festival MOONSHADOW a celebration of hall and campus life in MCC, MOONSHADOW sees all the different halls pitting their wits against each other in a variety of events, both literary and cultural, in order to attain the coveted MOONSHADOW shield. Begun by the Selaiyur L & D department consisting of the L & D secretary Mr. Shiv Seechurn and other Selaiyurians, Moonshadow was begun under the same name in 1979 and attained 33 years this time around.

Alumni/Alumna

The college is proud of having the oldest alumni association in India it was founded in 1891 on the initiative of a group of former students, with the object of organizing an annual reunion the day of the meeting was called the Christian College Day and the Association, the College Day Association the first meeting was attended by about 350 members, and the proceedings lasted a whole day. In order to encourage the Association, Dr. William Miller endowed a sum of ?5000 to meet the expenses of the annual meeting the annual meeting of the College Day Association in December 1963 accepted a new constitution and changed the name of the Association to "Alumni Association: Very briefly, the objectives are to promote the social and cultural interests of the alumni, by meetings and publications, and to promote the development of the College.

Course Curriculum Overview:

The course curriculum is well structured and relevant to current academic and real world needs,it hepls built astrong foundation knowledge especially in my field geography, the syllabus also supports preparation for competitive exams and higher education. Exams are conducted regularly and difficulties level is moderate, which helps in consistent preparation, however adding more practical assessments instead of only theoretical exams would be beneficial Overall the curriculum is good but it can be improved by including updated topics more hands on learning, and modern teaching methods
