Course Curriculum Overview

The Mining Department of IIT(ISM) is established in 1926 and carries a legacy with itself. The course structure is unique and has produced great and renowned Alumni. The faculty-to-student ratio is 1:10. The faculty is highly qualified and have a PhD. There are 8 semesters in the BTECH course and a midsem and endsem exam is held every semester.

Class Size: 95Course Fees: INR 100000 per year

Internships Opportunities

There are around 100 companies for internships with an average stipend of 45k. Almost 350-400 students out of 1000 get internships. Microsoft- 1.25 Lac, Amazon-80k , Goldman Sachs-90k, Google- 1.1 Lac, Cairn India - 35k, Spriklr-2 Lac

Placement Experience

Students get internships in 3rd year out of which many get PPO. Students in 4th year get placements opportunities with amazing companies coming in a campus like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Goldman Sachs, Sprinklr, Aditya Birla, Tata, ONGC, Cairn India etc The highest international package is 90 lac and the domestic is 51 lac. The average package is 14 lac Almost 90% of students get placed

Fees and Financial Aid

The tuition fee per semester is Rs 100000. The hostel and mess charges per semester are Rs 25000. Therefore for a Btech course, it costs Rs 1000000 (10 lakhs). All SC/ST students receive a 100% tuition fee waiver. Students with a Family income of less than 1 lac receive 100% tuition fee waiver. Students with a Family income between 1 lac and 6 lac receive a 66.6% tuition fee waiver. There are numerous scholarships including MCM, ISMAANA etc

Campus Life

The annual fest is called SRIJAN which is held in February. The tech fest is called CONCETTO which is held in October. IIT (ISM) has the 2nd biggest library in Asia with numerous books and a huge studying area. The classrooms are well-equipped with the latest types of equipment and projectors. All Sports activities like Cricket, Football, Basketball, Tennis, Badminton. There is a gym as well. There are many clubs like Manthan, Fintech, Kalpitam etc

Hostel Facilities

There are many hostels in campus and in each room we get a bed,almirah, study table,fan,lights. The meal is properly made and the food is good. The hostels are provided by hostel committee on the day of reporting and it is very affordable with fees around Rs 10K

Hostel Fee: INR 25000 per year

Admission

All Science students with 75% in the 12th Board exam are eligible and need to appear in JEE Advanced Exam which can be taken after JEE Main. The exam is held every year. The form is released around April on jee advanced website and admission is given through JOSAA Counselling.

from 7th semester onwards students become eligible for campus placement there are lot of companies who used to visit our campus like microsoft gives 15 to 20 offer, amazon guves 13 to 15 offer , accenture gives a lot of offer like 30 offer and many more in recent year placement 64 lpa is highest and average of 12.5 lpa they use to offer forSDE role in last year 93.14percentage of total student get placed my plan is to get a full time job as software developer

INSIGHTS OF BIT MESRA

Placement Experience:

From 7th sem onwards students are able to face placements. Comapnies such as ZS, Deloite AB in bev microsoft visa comes here and normally takes 1-3 students. The highest package may vary from 40-50 lakhs and average is 4-5 lakhs. Internships opportunities are quite low here. In chemical enginnering only till now out of 120 students 20-30 got placed including out of campus palcements. I am hoping to do mba after pursuing the degree as there is less comapny visit for core branches.

BIT : A Freshman's Perspective

Placement Experience:

Students are eligible to sit for placements from the 7th semester.A variety of companies including TATA Steel, JSL, JPL, Samsung, TCS and ABG visit the campus.The highest package offered is to Mining branch by vedanta which is 16.5 lpa.In core branches like mechanical and electrical the placement percentage reaches to almost 80%.

Placement Experience:

The placement cell of our college is quite active and provides internship opportunities and pre-placement offers for students in their third and fourth years. It invites reputed companies like Microsoft, Google, Amazon, Accenture, IBM, Intel, Infosys, Cognizant, Deloitte, and many more. The average package is about 12LPA and highest package is about 52 LPA. Branches like CSE offer even higher, lucrative packges.

1.The main thing about our campus, campus placements are so good. Branches like CSE & ECE have high placement percentage about 90. 2.From 3rd year students got involved college internships and programmes that allow them to better placements. 3.Top companies like Google,Microsoft,Amazon,Intel,Samsung etc visited our campus. And the highest package of our campus is about 60LPA offered by Amazon. 4.I planned to work after completing my B.Tech.

Placement Experience:

Placement Experience:

The placement of IIT dhanbad is very good and it offers a average package of 24lpa with highest package of 66lpa this year. Also every year more than 70% students get placed in our college. Specially the core companies shows a lot of interest in our college like coal india, sail, gail, petroleum industries companies, mining companies , etc Average package of cse here is 28lpa with 90% placement rate. Average of electrical is 23lpa with placement rate of 80%. Similarly, every branch average package lies between 18lpa to 24lpa.

IIT(ISM)DHANBAD SINCE 1926

Placement Experience:

The placement season starts during 7th semester when various companies come to camous to recruit students. Top companies such as google, amazon,microsoft, coal india, texas instumentation, ONGC etc visits the campus for recruirment. Around 60 -70 percent of the students get placed every year. The highest package from the camous was about 1cr . And the average package of the college was about 15-16 lakhs Apart from the capmus placement many students apply for off campus placement for which also tge college helps.

Course Curriculum Overview:

This college is an engineering college and I choose this college for a Btech degree in civil engineering. The teacher faculty is pretty well they teach us and do many practical labs. The student ratio in my class is 50:11 which means 50 boys and 11 girls in my branch. Mainly they all are DR they have dr degrees and they method is simply not like an extraordinary teacher. In my college teacher took all the exams at timely and it is not very difficult to pass
