Course Curriculum Overview
I took Btech CSE because of the placement and opportunities available in the field from the college. Teaching quality is good, most of the teachers are Ph.D. from IITs. But it's the duty of students to study since one teacher is teaching the same course to 4 classes with 70 students in each class. Teaching is done via traditional and modern methods. One thing good about this college is its FFCS system which allows the student to choose his course, teacher, and time himself, this is unique to VIT. Exams are moderate here and easy to pass here but in case one gets a backlog it's a headache to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Internships are available from 3rd semester if one applies, but it's better to search for them off campus to get better opportunities, apart from companies faculties here offer fellowships for research. Multiple students here have grabbed internship in GSoC and other reputed places.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fee per year is given on admission confirmation letter and no hike is made to that but if one gets a backlog he/she has to pay 6k extra per course, and college is very strict about discipline so any kind of malpractice if caught will land you a sem back. There are no scholarship here, govt scholarships can be availed via those who are eligible and toppers of VITEEE also get some assistance.
Campus Life
There are two festivals hosted by the college namely TechnoVIT in sept and Vibrance in February, more then 200 events happen during these fests organized by schools and clubs. The infrastructure of the college is pretty decent albeit a little crowded. Facilities like library sports etc are pretty decent. Most of the labs are air-conditioned with newer blocks being fully Air conditioned. There are more than 90 clubs in the college so there will be something happening one day or another all around the year. Trends is run by students unofficially to help the students.
Admission
I first got to know about VIT during my class 12th while searching for good Pvt colleges from collegedunia, for the year 2021 specifically the exam VITEEE was conducted online at home, too apply for the exam the student need to register on its website, exam fee is 1200 rupees. After the exam, we were mailed outranks on which we were given admission in different branches and categories. To register for counseling we had to pay 5k rupees which were adjusted in fees if one takes admission. After which we had to fill in our choices of branch and category. For those who don't know category is basically how much fee you pay. After which our admission was confirmed. One thing I would like to see improved is that branch once allowed we can't change it. Would like to see this change.
