Work Hard- Party Harder

My course is MBA in International Business. I really like the course because I want to build my carrier in trade and IIFT is the best government college for trade. The faculty is very much experienced and mostly all professors have corporate work experience. There are about 50 faculty for 200 students batch. The case-based teaching method is used by all professors which give us live problems based on corporates. The trimester is about 3 months and we have to intern for 2 months during April and May.

I can't disclose the placement details, please contact the placement committee of IIFT for any such type of info. We have 6 Sigma and trade-related courses which help in placements. Live projects by different companies are offered by the companies.

The placements are really very good. the average package is 25 lakhs which are quite good if we talk about top MBA colleges. The highest package is offered by Trade companies which is about 80 lakhs at the Dubai location, followed by Trident, Amazon, Microsoft etc. 100% placements are there. My plan is to work for 5-6 years at a reputed firm and then go for a start-up.

Fees structure is the same as other reputed MBA colleges. Education loan is easily available at banks since the college is quite reputed. Moreover, the college provides excellent placement opportunities. The average placement last year was 25 lakhs and it will increase this year. Talking about scholarships, there are various case competitions which are regularly going on the campus whose cash prizes are in lakhs sometimes.

Life at the campus is amazing as there are various sports you can play at the campus. There are various sports events happening every month, on the time it is section wars then the next one will be adrenaline(the intercollege sports event). The annual cultural fest at IIFT is QuoVadis which happens in the month of February every month. There are about 15 clubs and societies and you can join them as per your choice and the interest you want to pursue in the future like finance, operations, trade etc. IMF is the body which is run by the students of IIFT and has direct contact with the admin. Classrooms are fully furnished and there are ACs, proper ventilation and full of greenery.

The hostel facility is good as per the MBA college. Food quality is also good. The menu is quite diverse including all types of dishes from East, West North South India. The registration process is very simple. Students do not usually opt for rented accommodation outside the campus.

The first step was to get a decent percentile in the entrance exam of IIFT. Further, after clearing all cutoffs I was shortlisted for the personal interview round. I secured the 96 percentile in the entrance exam. PI was a little tough but it was all about the details we uploaded in the form. After a period of time, the shortlist came and I got admission to IIFT Delhi. Application forms can easily be available on the IIFT website. The waiting time was very high for the shortlist and the result took a very long time to be released.

I faced an interview for admission at IIFT and an extempore whose topic was "Linkedin and Professionalism" and I spoke for 3 minutes. It is very easy if you are reading the newspaper regularly. I prepared for the extempore and PI by myself by going through the newspaper regularly and knowing what is going on around me. Self-introspection is a must as it will help you to know about your strengths and weaknesses.
