Course Curriculum Overview
I choose PGDM marketing because IMT has a great reputation for this course it is the flagship course of IMT and it is also known as the mecca of marketing. I had an inclination towards marketing since the beginning and with the pedagogy of IMT, I choose this course. The faculty-student ratio is approximately 60 students per faculty member. IMT Ghaziabad follows case learning pedagogy method of teaching wherein learning and teaching of concepts happens through real life HBR case based discussions. Faculty here is quite professional and has had diverse industry as well as teaching experience. Getting to learn from them is quite a positive experience and i feel their knowledge base is quite rich. Trimster pattern is followed here and after the end of each term there are end term exams strictly according to academic calendar. Internal assesment carry 60% of marks. Evaluation is quite rigorous but it is fairly easy to pass.
Internships Opportunities
Companies visiting for summer internships are, pernod ricard, goldman sachs, google, bajaj, Mahindra and Mahindra, Microsoft, Marico, nivea, mars, HDFC, TCPL, etc. Roles and responsibilities offered are Sales, Marketing, Market Research, tech analysis, investment banking, equity research, portfolio management, project management, Operations, HR, credit risk, consulting, etc.
Placement Experience
Placements occur 2 times, summer placements for a summer internship at the end of 1st year for 2 months, and final placements. Summer placements occur in the first term itself after about a month of joining the college and final placements occur in the 5th term. 100% of the batch gets placed with an average package of 17.35 lacs per annum. The highest domestic is 36 lacs per annum and the highest international is for a company named Tolaram which was 65.6 lacs per annum. Other companies which visited were Bajaj, Barclays, Reckitt, Mahindra, Google, Bain and company, Nivea, TCPL, etc. Profiles offered are Analyst, Financial Risk and advisory, Credit, General Management, Strategy, Consulting, Project Manager, Product Manager, Marketing and Sales, FPA, Market Research, HR Manager, Operations Manager, etc.
Fees and Financial Aid
The 2-year fee is 19,53,000 rs. The top 20 percentiles get scholarships worth 50,000 each and the top 2 students from each specialization get 1 lac each. Girls students get a 25% waiver on tuition fees. Every expense (mess, hostel) is included in the total fees.
Campus Life
Life on the campus is quite amazing. The culture here is very inclusive and ensures a holistic experience for everyone who participates. Many events of clubs and committees are going on around the year so life here is quite vibrant. People from various cultures celebrate their festivals and make everyone experience their culture. Our annual fest PASSION is one of the biggest in India. And our sports fest CHAKRAVYUH is known as the Olympics of B-School. The sports culture is also quite active round the year and we have facilities for cricket, football, basketball, badminton, tennis, table tennis, volleyball and many more. The library is very equipped with relevant content and we also have Bloomberg terminals. Each classroom is equipped with a projector and monitors as well as heaters and ACs.
Hostel Facilities
Hostel rooms are quite practical for students and living conditions are very much adequate. Facilities include ACs, study tables with sockets, cupboards, chairs and beds. Mess food is very tasty on some days and on some days it is homely. They provide a variety of foods and cuisines like north indian, south Indian, indo Chinese. There are also pizza and pasta nights by the mess committee. Hostel registration is not a separate process and happens at the time of admissions itself. Looking at the facilities and quality it is very affordable. Washrooms are also clean and well maintained and are in adequate numbers.
Admission
Process consisted of shortlisting candidates on basis of their entrance scores which were from CAT, XAT or CMAT. IMT also accepts GMAT scores. Then conducting a WAT test followed by a PI. The application form was available on the website of college. Application fees was 2500 INR. Eligibility was that it required students to have graduated or atleast in the final year of graduation. Cut off for the college was around 92 percentile for CAT and XAT. The college also admits candidates with exceptional profiles for eg. - National or international representation.
Interview Experience
Topics for WAT included EV, Covid 19, Russia Ukraine war, Semiconductor shortage, etc. Interview questions included an introduction, about my under graduation, my extracurriculars, my internship experience, my interests and why I wanted to pursue MBA and why marketing. The process was carried out smoothly by the Admissions Committee of IMT G. It was online and comprised of debriefing us first about the process, followed by WAT and then Personal Interview. I prepared basic hygiene questions and my reason to pursue MBA and marketing and why I wanted to get into IMT G.
