Remarks

Everything is good but the management is lacking behind somewhere. Yes I know the university is too big to manage but the management system really needs to grow a bit more.

Entrance Preview

Lucknow University conducts its own entrance examination for BCA. My rank in that exam was 43. As I am a general kota so I was listed in waiting list but later on I was selected somehow. I opted for this particular university because according to me it was the best I could get in Lucknow.

Course Curriculum Overview

4

As my course was Bachelors in computer application, It was revolving all around computers and a bit of management. But the syllabus is same for every college or university providing BCA. It is the defined structure same as every other college in India.

Internships Opportunities

No, Internships and placements and the two things that are ignored like not so important things here. At first teachers are not interested, maybe they think the students are not worthy enough to intern and then students themselves don't try much to go to teachers and talk about. Everybody just blames each other.

Placement Experience

2

Till now I have not been into any placement or any such thing in campus. But my seniors were confident enough about this topic. Lucknow University doesn't provides any campus placements, but it may or may not provide you some jov opportunities based on your mental knowledge and percentile.

College Events

2.5

Most of the events celebrated are hosted by Arts department in the Malviya hall but as it is wide campus, It's not always when we get to know about the events. But some of the events were like workshops of php, presentations of minor and major projects of students from different colleges, blood donating camps and many other small events.

Fee Structure And Facilities

According to me the fee structure is a bit expensive for the quality they provide. Other colleges with better faculty and classrooms charge a very less in comparison to Lucknow University. And also it's a government institution, so it should charge lower than other private institutions.

Fees and Financial Aid

Yes, It's a government institution, students here are also studying at zero fees. And scholarships are also provided to every student in need. I myself have availed my 90% of fee last year.

Campus Life

4

Gender ratio in BCA is 1:5. There are just 10 girls over 50 boys. But things are different in different courses. In some of them like BSc Computer Science, there are more girls and less boys. But when you roam around in the campus you will see mostly boys. There is no particular type about religion, economic status or so. You will get to see all types of students, there are international students too.

Hostel Facilities

2.5

Hostel facilities are not that good here. There are many hostels for boys and girls separately. But the quality at both of them is same. Food is also unhygienic and rooms too. One room needs to be shared by two or may be three and It's not that easy to get your name in hostels list. And yes the girls hostel has very strict rules regarding entry and exit.

Alumni/Alumna

Alumni network of Lucknow university is very vast. Every other person is Lucknow University graduate and seniors in there are too helpful. Weither it be about studies or hostel or anything, they are always there for help.

Exam Structure

Exams in Lucknow University are clean enough in the exam hall. By clean I didn't meant the cleanliness of the classrooms but the examination process. No cheating or desking is allowed. But the checking of question papers is still something I don't have a clue about.

Admission

As I told you LU has an entrance exam for BCA. At my time I think it wasn't avaiable online or maybe I didn't knew about online. So, I printed the form from website and filled it with my valid details and we also need to attach a photocopy of some documents like 10th marksheet, 12th marksheet, adhar card, 2 photographs and also a DD of rupees 800 . When you print the form you get all the details about how to fill the form written on it very clearly. And then I posted it to the mentioned address with an empty envelope with my address written on it. Later on they will send your admit card for entrance exam in that same envelope.

Faculty

4

The faculty of college varies like hell. I mean at once you see teachers who are over-qualified for their subject and on the other hand there are teachers who don't even know how to teach. Computer is a subject, all about innovation and change. But there are some teachers who are older than the computers itself. Overall, the majority of teachers are good enough.

Placement Experience:

Placements at Greater Noida Institute of Technology (GNIOT) are decent but not exceptional. Students usually become eligible for campus placements from the 5th semester onwards. Companies like TCS, Wipro, and Infosys visit the campus, along with some startups, and offer roles mainly in IT support, development, and trainee positions. The highest package offered is around 8–10 LPA, while the average package ranges between 4–5 LPA, and the lowest is around 2–3 LPA. Approximately 60–70% of students get placed, while others either go for higher studies or off-campus opportunities.

Course Curriculum Overview:

I choose the BCA program because of my interest in software development and web technologies. The curriculum’s focus on core subjects like Java, C++, and Database Management Systems (DBMS) was a major deciding factor, as these are the building blocks for a career in IT. ?The syllabus could be updated more frequently to include emerging technologies like Cloud Computing or AI/ML as core subjects rather than electives. Moving away from traditional rote learning toward more project-based learning would be beneficial. More frequent industry guest lectures would also bridge the gap between academia and corporate life The exam will be I would rate the difficulty as moderate. If you stay consistent with your lab work and internal assignments, the end-semester exams are quite manageable. The technical papers (like Mathematics or Architecture) tend to be the most challenging.

Placement Experience:

Around 70–80% of students from the course get placed through campus recruitment drives every year. The average package ranges between 3–5 LPA, while the highest package can go up to 8–10 LPA depending on skills and performance. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, and other reputed firms. A good number of students also secure internships in companies related to their field, which helps in gaining practical exposure and industry experience. The common roles offered include software developer, data analyst, trainee engineer, and support roles, providing a solid start to students’ careers.

Placement in my college are very very average. I say below average because the placement average package of average 500 students was around 4 lakhs. And there are more than 10,000 students in my college. So the placement is very low. And the highest package for BCA, was around 10,00,000 and engineering around 20,00,000. An MBA was also around 13 to 14 lakhs. So the placement is very bad in my college.

All Faculties are good and everyone has a lot of experience in their work also support students. Faculty qualification is best and their way of teaching and explaining is also good. Mid-term exams are very good and they are also very tough.
