Course Curriculum Overview
The reason I chose this course is that after my job in a technical background, I realized that I was not feeling content enough. Hence, after some exploring, I realized that I am inclined toward marketing. Also, IMT is famous for marketing. The student-faculty ratio currently is 60:1. The faculty is a combination of multiple backgrounds and diverse knowledge in terms of education and corporate experience. They are almost at par with the prestigious B-schools in India. They employ various methods to facilitate classroom learning. The exams, they are conducted according to the schedule given at the beginning of the session and since final exams are given only 40% weightage, it is not very difficult to pass, unless of course, you don't do anything.
Internships Opportunities
Companies that came for internships include Mondelez, Pernod Ricard, Reliance, TATA Steel, Mahindra, Cisco, DELL, Adobe etc. Roles offered include marketing and sales, Business analysts, strategic consultants, project managers etc Projects are role and company-specific and may include market research etc
Placement Experience
Students become eligible for campus placements in their 2nd year i.e. 5th trimester. Some of the companies that visited campus include Marico, Reckitt, Deloitte, ICICI Bank, Cognizant, Cisco, and Infosys consulting. The average package is 17.35 LPA. The highest package is around 34LPA (domestic) and 68 LPA (International) All students get placed, and 100 per cent of placements take place. I will be joining the corporate industry post my degree.
Fees and Financial Aid
The fees have been constant for the last two years, 19,53,000 for two years. This includes a hostel, mess, tuition, and the refundable security deposit. The rising average at IMT justifies the fees. There are also multiple scholarships for the students. Especially, female students will be getting a 25% refund on the entire tuition fee. There are also other scholarships for students up to 1 lakh INR. The top performers are rewarded generously at IMT. I landed a summer internship with a renowned IT company with a stipend of 2 lacs.
Campus Life
The annual cultural fest organized is PASSION. It is conducted in the month of December. It is both a management and cultural fest. There are academic events during the day and cultural events during the night. It is spread over a span of three days. Moving on, the library is everything you can ask for. It has all the necessary things required to satiate the hunger for knowledge. You will have everything you're looking for and beyond. The classrooms are comfortable and spacious. They are well-equipped with the latest technology. Talking about sports and extracurriculars, there are multiple things you can be a part of. You can play various sports like Table tennis, Volleyball, Basketball, Badminton, Cricket, football, etc. In terms of extracurriculars, Students can be part of various clubs/committees. There are multiple them to choose from. There is a social media page as well called IMTired, which is run by students, for the students of IMT only.
Hostel Facilities
The hostel facilities are very good. The hostel is equipped with all basic necessities such as Air Conditioners, geysers, tables, chairs, beds etc. Also, it is very secure as the hostels are guarded by security personnel 24/7. Since the hostels are within the campus, and in close vicinity of the academic block where classes are conducted, it is very convenient for the students to commute. There is 1 block allocated separately to girls. The boys are spread across different blocks. The hostels also have sports facilities such as table tennis, badminton etc. The food served in the college mess is of good quality. North Indian, South Indian, and Chinese are some of the cuisines served in the college mess. 4 meals a day are served to all students residing on campus. Some of the faculty members also eat the mess food on regular basis. The registration process for the hostels is very smooth. The Student council and college administration randomly allocates hostels to the students fairly.
Admission
The admission process at IMT is quite simple. The candidates are shortlisted on the basis of scores, profiles, and work experience. If even one of them is exceptional, you would likely get the call. Once shortlisted, you will get an interview call from the college. The application fees would be around 2000-2500 INR. The interview process would most likely be conducted online like it was in the last few years.
Interview Experience
There was no GD during my time. There is no separate test for IMT as well. Once you get shortlisted, you will get an interview call. The day your interview will be scheduled, you will be given a topic to write on. The duration would be 20 minutes approximately, and you will have to write around 400-500 words. Post that, I had a panel of two panellists, who took my interview. The main idea behind this is to test your general knowledge and writing skills. If you're well-read with the current happenings, you will be able to write some relevant things. So my suggestion would be to read as many articles as you can. For interviews, they normally asked me about my work experience and some tricky questions in general. Take your time while answering the questions, you can ask the panellist for the same. Be calm and composed, and try not to be nervous. All the best!
