Course Curriculum Overview
As a student of medicine, I pursued this course to get into the scientific field of medicine and biotechnology. Faculty for life sciences are less as the course is new but the institute is recruiting as of now. There are 57 students in our batch of Life sciences which is kind of chaos. All the faculty are well qualified which you can also check on jc Bose website. Teaching methods are normal that are on board with a marker. Term exams are of 75 marks in which we get 3 hours and the paper level is moderate.
Internships Opportunities
There are no such companies that provide internships for Bsc students but many notices come daily in WhatsApp groups for internships. Further, if you are a part of any club you can learn certain things and you get to build new connections which can help you with internships.
Fees and Financial Aid
The annual fee for a life sciences course is Approx 46,000. Furthermore, if you have any reservations you can avail of scholarships like single girl child etc. The fees are a little high according to me as it is a government university.
Campus Life
There are many clubs that you can join and that opens up many opportunities. Many activities and programs are held in the university in which you get cash prizes too. There are no Ac or fancy amenities in the classroom. For participating in different sports you have to give auditions. Furthermore groups like ncc, nss, cnc, eklavya, and many others. More are there than is for the army, management, and sports respectively.
Admission
Eligibility of course is just that you should have biology in your class 12. Application forms for Jc Bose are available on their website. Admissions are based on reservations and percentages. According to me, there should be an entrance exam to get admission. Furthermore, on the basis of entrance exams, students should be given preferences. As this course is new in the university, many improvements are going on like labs and fixed classrooms.
