Course Curriculum Overview

4.5

I choose computer science and engineering because I have an interest in coding and software development. There is 6 faculty member and 72 students so there is a 1:12 faculty-student ratio. Most of the teachers are highly qualified. Some have done their PhD. The teaching is also very good, the teachers are very humble and friendly. There are 4 CA exams in 1 semester and they are easy to pass if study a lit bit.

Fees and Financial Aid

6000 fees per semester and college provides full guidance for any kind of state or national scholarships. Many students get Swami Vivekananda scholarships. For girl students, there is Kannyashree provided by the West Bengal state government. The college will help to get those scholarships.

Campus Life

4

The college campus is very big. The college is near the Teesta river so you will get great views of nature. The annual tech and cultural fest are Esperanza, which is conducted in the month of March-April. There are so many different clubs for both tech and cultural events. There are Peptalks, tech-o-nicks for the technical event, and Rongmosal, Ramdhanu, dance club, drama club, music club, etc for the cultural event. Also, we have a "Google Developer Student Club" in our college. In the month of April/May, there is held sports tournaments (Cricket, Volleyball, Football). The library is also big and filled with lots of books however the no of books is not enough for all students.

Hostel Facilities

4

There are two hostels for both boys and girls. But the boy's hostel is not completed yet so they provide the hostel just for the 3rd and 4th years. Although students can easily get rented accommodation near the college with reasonable rental fees. The girl's hostel is big and clean and the food is also good. The rooms are big enough to live for two people. They provide you bed, study table, and chair. staffs are very humble. The hostel fee is 10700 per semester which is really cheap.

Admission

You have to take admission through WBJEE counselling. The process is online. Eligibility is 50% or above marks in the 10th and 12th board exams and qualified in WBJEE You can find the admission form on the college's official website http://cgec.org.in/

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.
