Brief Review on Assam Agricultural University

I have chosen this course due to my interest in the food and nutrition sector. Student: faculty ratio is healthy. Professors here are highly qualified with PhDs, post-doctoral research, research papers, etc in their respective fields. This 4-year course has 3 years of Theories and Practical semesters with exams of both at the end and 2-semester internships which are an Experiential learning programme and a Rural awareness work experience program as per the curriculum prescribed by ICAR.

Fee increment is there but it is completely dependent on the notification from the government's side. The fee is around 28,000 for the first semester and around 10,000 for the rest of the semesters. Mess dues are around 2000 per month There are a lot of scholarships to cover up your expenses like the merit Scholarship, the ISHAAN UDAY scholarship for NE students and NTS as well.

Libraries and laboratories are well equipped, and a gym, swimming pool, basketball ground, and football ground are also present at the Jorhat campus. A lot of activities happen regularly like sports and academic events in college week. Special days are celebrated on regular basis. And a yearly fest is also there which is called AVENTINE.

A hostel facility is provided to each and every student. Rooms are 3-seaters generally. Hostel rooms are not as good but they are furnished and located within the campus so to and fro from college to the hostel seems easy. If you don't like the hostel you can opt for PG or a rental room according to your preference. The mess food is okay with the weekly menu but here in Assam, the staple meal is rice and not chappati.

A typical NEET Or JEE aspirant Or a candidate with PCB with agriculture as the main subject can also fill out the ICAR UG form. The form will be available by Feb Or march and the examination date will be in May Or June. The examination occurs in online mode. After the ICAR UG scorecard, you have to register yourself for the counselling process and then different colleges like the college of agriculture, horticulture, and community science will be allotted to you. If you take admitted into a university outside of your domicile area then you will be eligible for the NTS scholarship which is around 36,000 per annum. Getting a scholarship is the best thing about ICAR. One scope of improvement, according to me, is in the document verification process which is too tedious.
