Course Curriculum Overview
I chose Electronics and Communication as in this course I will be learning both about technologies and core subjects. It is a good mixture of both. And, I can say that the faculty members of the ECE department are very good.
Internships Opportunities
In 3rd year we start getting internship opportunities. Stipends are about 10k. Many companies like rxefy tech, sill lync, pursuit software technologies, cvent, etc come to our college. So I can say you will get many opportunities here
Placement Experience
From the end of the 6th sem( for B.tech) we get eligible for placements. Many companies like EY, Virtusa, Amazon, Rockwell Automation, etc come to our university. The percentage of students placed differs from department to department. For ECE it's approx 80%.
Fees and Financial Aid
Fees per sem are about 47k - 49k. So, I think it is pretty affordable. Yes, there are many opportunities for scholarships. Many forms are shared by faculty members. Financial assistance is good here. The jobs we get here are ok. Not very good not bad.
Campus Life
Fest is conducted every year named Fiesta. You can search for it on YouTube many videos are available. It is conducted in the month of April. There is a library available for semester books and some extra books are also there. Classrooms are average. Sports and extracurricular activities are very well supported in our college. There are many social groups and clubs for students. These are run by students only so you can get a chance of learning many things from taking part in an event to organizing it.
Admission
I got admission to Asansol Engineering College through the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination (WBJEE). I secured a rank of approx 14k. I could get to any other college also in the counselling process but my first choice was this college only this college was the closest to my home, i.e, Munger in Bihar. After the WBJEE exam, we had a counselling process. There were many countries for the process. I opted for Asansol for counselling. We had to go to the counselling centre and then wait for our turn. We were given a form to fill in our details like Name, family information, our ranks( you can give rank for WBJEE as well as JEE as there was an option for admission through JEE exam also), and your choices of colleges.
