Course Curriculum Overview

I have chosen mechanical engineering because in future I would like to appear in GATE. Mechanical engineering opens opportunities in the government sector as well as the private sector and the major advantage is that technology in mechanical engineering is not updating so fast ok compare to IT industries.

Class Size: 120Course Fees: INR 90000 per year

Fees and Financial Aid

The fees are quite nominal. Approx 3,20000 for 4 years. And 300000 for a hostel for 4 years. It means the entire cost would be 700000. The scholarship is available only for west bengal domicile not for another state

Campus Life

The cultural fest takes place every year in the month of February and mostly the singers come from outside. The sports arrangement is quite good, sports day is held every year in the month of the Jan college also participates in INTERDIVISIONAL Sports in Durgapur.

Admission

I have taken admitted to DR BC ROY ENGINEERING COLLEGE, DURGAPUR through wbjee. If you belong to another state then there is very less chance of getting into a government college as most of the government colleges ask for a domicile. Hence it is one of the best private colleges in the East zone. And placement is quite good in comparison to other colleges.

I don't have idea about the placements since I'm in first year now. But I talked to a senior and got to know that many got multiple offers in 4th year. I also head that packages are around 4 lpa which is a decent and also a rise than the previous year.

The summary of my four years in one of the oldest colleges in India

Placement Experience:

The campus placements happen in final year of the course. There is a well established placement cell to conduct the on-campus placements. Many well renowned companies visit our college namely Microsoft, Google, TI, TSL, PWC, ICICI, ABG. L&T, etc. The highest package was 50LPA and the average was around 9LPA. Over 90% students got placed from across every department and details of the placement is also available in the college official website. I have gotten a job from the on-campus drive to a core company.

Placement Experience:

The placements of our college are below average. Studies for placement are more or less relevant from second semester. companies like tcs, amazon etc do visit our campus however very few are selected with package above 4-5 LPA. Most of the students seek out for higher studies and that's my plan too.

Placement Experience:

After the 6th semester, the students are eligible for placements. Mass recruiters like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, Accenture, Capgemini, etc visit every year and pick up 80-100 students per company. Other companies like Amazon, Thoughtworks, Etc also visit the college. The highest package offered by our college is 15LPA by Thoughtworks. Every year around 75-80% of students get placed on campus. I plan to get a good job work for 2-3 years and then apply for Masters. Overall the placement is very nice in this college.

The main reasons for choosing this college was- 1.I had heard a lot about this college in terms of teaching style and the other faculty members. 2. This college provides a good placement . 3. In wbjee minimum rank you should get to admit in cse it branches is 30000... application form are available in college site..it should be better if u do it in offline mode..in a year 2 semesters are organised one in December and one in June....more workers should be hired during admission time.....Read More
