- Campus,the campus ks too big and half the campus is covered with forest so it gives good look to yje campus.
- Girls to boys ratio is good.Not just BTECH studenta but mba students also have good ratio
- Weather,The bit weather is nice because of so many trees in the campus.
Dislikes
- Reaserch and development facilities.In our department most of the machines are obsolete and nonfunctional
- Less use of technology.Most of the record keeping works are still done in registers and log books
- Unnessasary expenditure in the name of development.
Course Curriculum Overview
I chose chemical engineering because I wanted to join either a core company or a consultancy. Before admission, I asked some seniors and they advised me to take either mechanical or chemical engineering if I am going for the non-circuital branch. The second reason for which I selected chemical engineering was it consists of subjects that are important in pharmaceutical and food technology. There are 22 professors in the chemical department. The 2k19 batch has 45 students from chemical engineering and 40 students from chemical plastic and polymer. some teachers take classes with food technology students too. food technology students from the k19 batch are 20 in number.
Internships Opportunities
For circuital branches, many companies visit for summer internships but for non-circuital very few or almost zero.A few companies like Microsoft, google, Paypal, ITC, PWC,jswpl, tata steel, trilogy, Goodman Sachs, and wells Fargo come for internships. They offer stipends in the range of 40k to 150k. Most projects are related to SDE or analytics.
Fees and Financial Aid
Every year the fees increase. But hostel fees remain the same that is 40k/year. Yes, students get scholarships that as GP Birla Scholarship based on their academics and family income. I got an offer from EXL service as a business analyst only for FTE, not an internship. EXl services offer ctc of 7.5 lahks + 1lqkh joking bonus. The fees are unfordable for lower middle-class family also bit has increased in admission fees in the last two years. Not just fees but BIT has also increased the of seats and jee mains ranking range.
Campus Life
Bit organizes the cultural fest BITOTSAV in the month of February. This is the biggest fest of BIT Mesra.Technical fest Pantheon in January.Sports fest Vajra in November.Again a cultural fest Deepotsav in October. BIT campus is very beautiful and mesmerizing. It is the 3rd largest campus in India area-wise. The library has a huge collection of core books and journals but there is hardly any novel or newspaper or other competitive exam book.
Admission
I got admission at BIT mesra through Jee mains rank. My rank was 38k. The whole process of admission took 3-4 hours because there were many students and few papers work. I got admission in the first round but there was a total of 7 rounds and 2 special rounds. For general category students who opted for chemical engineering ranks ranged from 32k to 44k. Rest eligibility criteria were the same as in NITs.
